Following plenty of hype, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is finally in action! In their opening game of Group B play, Canada emerged with a disappointing draw and now looks to bounce back with a more favorable finish against Qatar in their second fixture. Kickoff for this one is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 18 at BC Place in Vancouver.

Here are the opening odds on DraftKings Sportsbook for Canada vs. Qatar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Opening odds for Canada vs. Qatar on DraftKings Sportsbook

On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Canadian side is a strong favorite for an outright win. They’re listed at -390 odds on the Moneyline, a stark contrast from the +1100 odds of Qatar putting together an upset victory. The odds of a draw are priced at +500 as well.

As things stand at the time this article was written, DKSB’s betting splits show 94% of bets placed on an outright winner fall in Canada’s favor.

The Canadians’ first match of the group stages was underwhelming to say the least. After falling behind early in the 21st minute to Bosnia and Herzegovina, they trailed 1-0 through most of the afternoon before Cyle Larin struck with an equalizer at 78′. Despite holding a 13-8 edge in total shots with 60% possession, Canada was ultimately unable to pull ahead by the final whistle and secured just one point.

Interestingly enough, the Qatari side found themselves in a similar match flow during their opener against Switzerland. In the 17th minute of that game, they went down 1-0 on a penalty and spent the rest of the afternoon working to catch up. Despite holding possession for just 30% of the match and generating only six shots to 27 for their Swiss opposition, Qatar managed to create a miracle in stoppage time with an equalizing goal from Boualem Khoukhi. Unlike Canada, salvaging a point on the day was certainly a positive on the day.

There are other markets outside of traditional Moneylines for bettors to consider ahead of the upcoming Canada vs. Qatar fixture. For those looking for traditional spread options, Canada enters with -125 odds to cover at -1.5. Meanwhile, Qatar has even +100 odds of covering the +1.5 line as well.

Finally, the match total market sees over 2.5 combined goals favored at -135 odds. Under 2.5 is available at +105 value.
