Prediction, pick for Marcus McGhee vs. John Yannis at UFC Vegas 118

Marcus McGhee is looking to get back on track against John Yannis in the Prelims of tonight’s UFC Fight Night. Before losing to Petr Yan in July 2025, McGhee won six straight fights, with five coming by knockout or submission. Yannis enters this fight off his first UFC victory in April against Jamie Siraj.

Check out my best bet for Marcus McGhee vs. John Yannis at this week’s UFC Fight Night.

Marcus McGhee to win by KO/TKO/DQ (+135)

Yannis, 31, has a record of 10-4 with six knockouts, and his last four victories have come by knockout. Although McGhee is coming off a loss, it was against the current UFC Bantamweight Champion, Yan. From April 2023 to November 2024, McGhee began his MMA career 4-0 with three finishes.

Yannis has the reach advantage (70″ vs. 69″), but McGhee is taller (5’8″ vs. 5’7′) in this matchup. Both fighters in this contest do their best work on the feet, but McGhee is the more advanced striker. McGhee averages 5.50 significant strikes at a 45 percent rate.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, McGhee is a -455 favorite, with Yannis being the underdog at +350. Coming off a loss, I think McGhee comes out more aggressive in this contest than he was against Yannis. When McGhee pressures his opponent while having a high volume, he is still a dangerous striker in the Bantamweight division.
