Every week, running back situations shift across the NFL with players rising and falling due to workloads, injuries, and matchups. Getting production from running backs is key to fantasy football success, and sometimes it’s difficult to keep up with all the injuries and timeshares. To help you keep track of all the latest running back rotations and who you should play this week, check out my top 30 RB rankings for Week 9 listed below.
Unfortunately, Week 8 contained a few key running back injuries that changed up value significantly going forward. There are also four teams unavailable in Week 9, as the Bucs, Browns, Jets, and Eagles get their bye weeks.
In Week 8, Jonathan Taylor (40.4 FPTS) had the high score for the week, finishing ahead of James Cook (36.6 FPTS), Saquon Barkley (36.4 FPTS), and Breece Hall (35.9 FPTS). Those four superstars all took advantage of their smash spots from near the top of last week’s rankings, but Barkley and Hall are on their bye this week. Just behind the four stars, Chase Brown (25.5 FPTS), RJ Harvey (24.1 FPTS), Kimani Vidal (22.7 FPTS) and De’Von Achane (20.1 FPTS) were the only other running backs to put up more than 20 fantasy points in Week 8.
Even with one more game remaining in Week 8, it’s not too early to start looking ahead to what to do in your Week 9 lineup.
