Connecticut Sun vs. Atlanta Dream prediction, pick for Sunday 5/25/25

It’s a rare daytime back-to-back for the Atlanta Dream. After dispatching the 0-3 Dallas Wings on Saturday, they line up with the 0-3 Connecticut Sun on Sunday. It’s a prime chance for Atlanta to get over .500 on the season.

Allisha Gray went off on Saturday for 27 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Their new frontcourt of Brionna Jones and Brittney Griner combined for 26 points and 23 rebounds. While Rhyne Howard struggled, she still stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists. This game showed the balance of this Dream squad and how several players can carry the offense at any given time.

Outside of Tina Charles, this Sun team is struggling to get it together. Marina Mabrey is having a hard time adjusting to the increased offensive load. Saniya Rivers is a rookie getting used to life in the league and has a significant offensive burden. Olivia Nelson-Ododa looks like a breakout candidate, but developing a solid starter won’t change this team’s fortunes.

The Dream are 8.5-point favorites at home and are -410 on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The total is set at 159.5 points. Let’s look at the best bets and predictions for this contest.

Prediction for Dream vs. Sun

The Wings had a good fight on Saturday, but the Dream handled business. Their defense did just enough to hold Dallas, and they cobbled together enough offense. Against a Sun team failing to do anything on either end of the court, Sunday’s performance by the Dream could be even better.

Even if Rhyne Howard struggles again, the power of their frontcourt and the presence of Allisha Gray can more than overcome that. This Sun team and their 107.9 DRTG are doing little to stop anyone this season. On top of that, the Sun are even worse offensively. Griner alone will take away much of their scoring power in the frontcourt. The Dream should win this one handily and make it a productive back-to-back.

Pick for Dream vs. Sun

Atlanta Dream -8.5 (-110)

Atlanta managed to cover the spread in my prediction article for Saturday. I’m counting on them to get over another spread in this one.

They’re coming off a back-to-back, and Rhyne Howard has been struggling in the early going. Even so, this Sun team is low on firepower and lower on confidence. Losing your whole starting lineup in an offseason before an 0-3 start has to be devastating. A Dream team looking to build a winning streak will be motivated and hungry to get the easy wins on their schedule.
