The Dallas Mavericks will attempt to reach the Western Conference Finals once again as they host the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 Saturday with a 3-2 lead in the series. The Mavericks reclaimed their advantage with a win in Game 5 and now have a chance to end the series on their home floor.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Mavericks player prop bets to target for Game 6 Saturday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Kyrie Irving over 20.5 points (-108)
In Irving’s storied NBA career, he has had 13 opportunities to close out a playoff series. And in those games, he’s undefeated. It certainly helps that he’s played with the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant, but there’s something about Irving being one of the most clutch players in the league. He’s been quiet for most of this series, often deferring to Luka Doncic before getting his own shots in the second half. Even though he’s only gone over this line once in five games, I think he channels an effort similar to his 30-point showing in Game 6 against the Clippers in the last round. Back Irving to go over this scoring line.
P.J. Washington under 2.5 3-pointers (-102)
Washington was eventually going to have a down game from behind the arc, and it came in Game 5. He still managed to can a few triples in that contest, so volume could still potentially be high for the forward in Game 6. Washington probably settled for a few perimeter shots in Game 5 due to his hot shooting, which I think he’ll avoid doing in Game 6. Even though he had a strong stretch in this series from deep, I see him going under this line tonight.
Dereck Lively under 6.5 rebounds (-108)
The Mavericks rookie pulled down 10 rebounds in Game 5 and impacted plenty of others in a dominant showing. However, he’s only gone over this mark one other time in this series and only pulled down four rebounds in each of the first two games. The Thunder will feel they were outplayed on the glass in the last contest and probably put more emphasis on securing rebounds in Game 6. That will impact Lively tremendously, as he’s largely in the game to get rebounds. If he can’t make his mark early, he might see a reduction in playing time too.
