Heading into Week 14 of the NFL season, we’re seeing a lot of games that could be impacted by weather. There’s expected to be a lot of rain on Sunday, particularly on the East Coast and in the Midwest. That could mean four games where passing the ball may not be ideal. It also means tougher tackling conditions and the potential for lower rostership. Here we’ll take a look at some wide receiver value plays that make sense on DraftKings for the Sunday main slate.
NFL DFS Picks, Week 14: WR value plays
Elijah Moore, CLE vs. JAX, $4,500
The Browns–Jaguars game is expected to have some weather in Cleveland. Still, we saw QB Joe Flacco start last week and Moore was his favorite receiver, seeing 12 targets while playing 73% of the offensive snaps. Moore only hauled in four of those targets, which is a bit concerning. But the volume was there and Moore broke one for 42 yards. He has good speed and big-play ability, so Moore may not need more than a few big plays to return value at this price. Weather also favors the receiver as opposed to the defensive back.
Jauan Jennings, SF vs. SEA, $3,600
One of the games not expected to be impacted by weather is Niners-Seahawks. It’s a big game with playoff implications and has the second-highest point total on the main slate at 47. Seattle played in a shootout last week on TNF vs. the Cowboys, which is a tough defense. Jennings is behind Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk but played almost 50% of the offensive snaps last week vs. the Eagles. Granted it was a blowout, Jennings still posted three catches on four targets with a TD. If 49ers-Seahawks is another shootout, Jennings has a chance to return some value at this price point.
Parker Washington, JAX vs. CLE, $3,000
This isn’t a great matchup and we talked about the weather, but with Christian Kirk sidelined, Washington should see plenty of snaps. He played 59% of the snaps on MNF in Week 13 vs. the Bengals after Kirk was injured early. That was still behind Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones. After QB Trevor Lawrence was injured, backup C.J. Beathard targeted Ridley, Jones and TE Evan Engram more frequently. But as long as Washington is going to be on the field for about 60% of the snaps, he should see some looks. At min-price and coming off six catches for 61 yards and a TD, Washington is a decent punt play.
