Technically, we have an 11-game featured MLB slate tonight on DraftKings, but I wouldn’t get too attached to that number. There’s a lot of rain expected in the Midwest on Tuesday. As such, you’ll have to keep a close eye on the games taking place in Cincinnati, St. Louis and Chicago. Have fun on the Doppler!

Bailey Ober, Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox, $8,700 – Ober’s last four starts have been incredible, as he’s taken advantage of a soft stretch of scheduling that’s seen him face the Athletics twice, along with the Mariners and the Tigers. The result? Just a 1.65 ERA and a 34.0% strikeout rate across 27.1 innings of work. The matchup luck continues on Tuesday with a trip to Chicago to square-off with the White Sox. The southsiders have been a little better since returning to health, yet the team still sits 26th in wRC+ (85) and 27th in ISO (.136) over the last 30 days. Ober should keep rolling along.

Blake Snell, San Francisco Giants vs. Toronto Blue Jays, $7,800 – Let’s shoot for some upside. The reigning NL Cy Young Award winner has been brutal in a Giants uniform, pitching to a 9.51 ERA in his first six starts with the team. However, after another IL stint, and a rehab assignment that concluded with five no-hit innings in Triple-A, I feel like Snell might finally be recovered from his truncated Spring Training. Remember, this is a man just one year removed from a 2.25 ERA and averaging 11.7 strikeouts per nine. It certainly helps his case that the Blue Jays are in town. Toronto has struggled with LHPs in 2024, owning a microscopic .119 ISO within the split — the fourth-lowest mark in MLB.
INFIELD

Rafael Devers, Boston Red Sox vs. Oakland Athletics, $6,200 – Devers is expensive, but he’s also red-hot. In the 133 plate appearances Devers has taken since the start of June, he’s hitting .313 with a .374 ISO and a 179 wRC+. On Tuesday, he’ll look to stay locked in against Joey Estes ($7,000). The 22-year-old has had some problems pitching outside of the spacious Coliseum in his rookie campaign, registering a bloated 7.00 ERA on the road. The LHBs he’s faced within that split? They’re slashing .333/.439/.771. Woof.

Jose Altuve, Houston Astros vs. Miami Marlins, $5,400 – Altuve continues to produce at an elite level, even at 34-years-old. In fact, since the beginning of June, Altuve is slashing .344/.388/.488 with five stolen bases and a 151 wRC+. The All-Star has 28 plate appearances specifically against LHPs in that span, and he’s been sure to take advantage, with 14 hits in 27 at-bats. I’d expect that trend to continue this evening against Trevor Rogers ($5,000) and his 5.07 xERA.

Nathaniel Lowe, Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels, $3,700 – The Rangers haven’t been scoring runs in bunches like last season and one of the big reasons for that has been the underwhelming play of Lowe. However, things are starting to turn around. In Lowe’s last 17 contests, the first baseman is slashing .354/.391/.569 with a 169 wRC+. Tonight, Lowe draws an opposite-hand matchup against Roansy Contreras ($5,500), which is essentially an Angels bullpen game. Los Angeles’ relievers have a 4.68 ERA — the third-highest mark in baseball. Lowe should eat.

Brett Wisely, San Francisco Giants vs. Toronto Blue Jays, $3,600 – I wonder if we might see Wisely up in the two-spot tonight against Yusei Kikuchi ($8,200). The infielder has been quite good in his limited work against LHPs, hitting .407 with a 213 wRC+, and there’s now an opening with Austin Slater recently traded to Cincinnati. If that does indeed happen, Wisely is the perfect value option with eligibility at multiple positions.
OUTFIELD

Heliot Ramos, San Francisco Giants vs. Toronto Blue Jays, $4,900 – The Ramos breakout campaign continues this evening. Few players have been better at hitting southpaws in 2024 than Ramos, who comes into Tuesday’s tilt slashing .404/.515/.808 in his 66 plate appearances within the split. This is also a good time to face the aforementioned Kikuchi, who has fallen off since a blistering start to the season. In his last eight outings, Kikuchi owns a 6.50 ERA and he’s surrendered 2.25 opponent home runs per nine.

Luke Raley, Seattle Mariners at San Diego Padres, $4,200 – Raley was brought in by the Mariners as a platoon bat that could punish right-handed pitching and that’s exactly what he’s done over the past 10 weeks. Since May 1, Raley is batting .281 with .253 ISO and a 147 wRC+ versus RHPs. He’s also regularly finding himself hitting in the clean-up spot. Raley will draw a favorable matchup on Tuesday in the form of Adam Mazur ($6,000). The rookie has had his issues with LHBs at the MLB level, surrendering a .467 wOBA within the split.

Wyatt Langford, Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels, $3,900 – Remember when we all though Langford was going to win Rookie of the Year back in March? Well, he’s suddenly making a run. Langford has been red-hot in July, showcasing all the tools that made him such a tantalizing prospect. Specific to his last 10 games, Langford is slashing .432/.512/.757 with seven extra-base hits.
