The Orioles will back up Rodriguez with a bullpen that entered Saturday ranked seventh in ERA with a 3.51 ERA while the Athletics bullpen ranked 12th with a 3.60 ERA.
Oakland starting pitching Mitch Spence will look to put his bullpen in a good spot for success as he has a 4.15 ERA with just 2.1 walks and 0.9 home runs per nine innings.
Though Spence only gets 7.6 strikeouts per nine innings, he has a 3.51 fielding independent supported by an offense that entered Saturday ranked 28th among the 30 MLB teams in batting average, on-base percentage, and runs per game.
While the Orioles enter Sunday leading the league in runs per game, with these two pitchers starting and Saturday’s blowout giving both team’s most trustworthy relief pitchers a day off, these offenses will cool down on Sunday.
