Germany finished at the top of Group A thanks to a late header from Niclas Fullkrug against Switzerland, while Denmark was fortunate to advance out of Group C with three draws. This will be the first meeting between these teams since squaring off an international friendly in 2021. That contest ended in a 1-1 draw.

This is a big match for the hosts, who did good work in the group stage under pressure. Even though Germany needed a late goal to draw with Switzerland, there was never real pressure when it came to advancing. On the flip side, Denmark had to sweat out other results thanks to yet another draw in the group stage. The Danes have experience but their performance on the pitch so far hasn’t been to the level of Germany.
Jonathan Tah is suspended for Germany thanks to card accumulation, while Antonio Rudiger is considered questionable due to an injury. For Denmark, Morten Hjulmand will be out due to suspension as well.
Denmark’s midfield can definitely create some problems for Germany but I think the attacking prowess of the hosts will be too much for the Danes to match. Germany was impressive in the group stage and will have the backing of the crowd, so I’ll take the hosts to get the job done in regular time and move on to the quarterfinal round.
