The 2024 NBA Draft will begin Wednesday, June 26 with the first round taking place on ABC and ESPN. This is the first time since the draft was shortened to two rounds where the event will actually take place over two days. Aside from the prestige of being a first-round pick, the other big benefit is a guaranteed contract in the NBA. First-round picks have two years in guaranteed money, two team options and then a qualifying offer ahead of restricted free agency. Here’s how that breaks down for the 2024 rookie class, via RealGM.

Even though the percentage increases go up for later picks in the first round, the total salary amount is much less as well. It is also important to note that these are simply the base amounts, and draft picks can sign for anywhere between 80-120% of that base amount. This means that the No. 1 pick will make between $8.4 million and $12.6 million in Year 1 depending on what is negotiated, while the No. 30 pick will make between $1.67 million and $2.5 million.
