Matchday 2 in Group C begins Thursday with Denmark taking on England in a rematch of the semifinal from the last European Championship. England won that contest to advance to the final, and is hoping to add another win here to effectively secure a spot in the knockout round. Denmark is trying to improve on a 1-1 draw it had in its opening group stage game against Slovenia.

Here’s what you need to know for the match, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Neither team looked particularly convincing in the first match at Euro 2024. Denmark got a huge momentum boost from Christian Eriksen’s strike in the opening contest and dominated possession, but failed to secure all three points. England went in front of Serbia on Jude Bellingham’s well-timed header but remained largely lethargic for the rest of the match. Both sides will be hoping for a more consistent performance in this clash.

Denmark should remain largely unchanged, although a few players could be swapped out. Luke Shaw remains sidelined for England, which means Kieran Trippier should continue to get the start for Gareth Southgate’s side. There might be a few changes in the midfield for England based on the last match.

Although Denmark brings the experience and acumen, particularly in midfield, England has too much talent up front for the Danes to hold off for 90 minutes. The English back line is unlikely to be tested much here, and it did well against an underrated Serbian attack in the opener. I’ll take England to win a close contest and all but wrap up a spot in the knockout round.
