It’s been a rainy start to the week in the northeast and midwest and that’ll continue on Tuesday. Thankfully, the only real game in question is in Chicago, which might actually save a bunch of people from stacking the always underwhelming bats of the Blue Jays.
For everything else, let’s dive in.

PITCHER
Stud
Freddy Peralta, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs, $10,500 – Peralta is just consistently one of the game’s best starting pitchers. He’s almost overlooked at this point. Through 10 starts in 2024, the RHP is in possession of a 3.04 SIERA and a 3.45 FIP. Peralta is also one of only nine qualified pitchers with a strikeout rate above 30%. He’s rock solid and the perfect archetype for DFS. With the Cubs sporting league-worst marks in batting average (.189), wOBA (.247) and wRC+ (59) across the past two weeks, I’d expect another good outing from Milwaukee’s ace on Tuesday night.
Value
Brandon Pfaadt, Arizona Diamondbacks at Texas Rangers, $7,600 – Don’t look now, but Pfaadt appears to be in the midst of a breakout. Though his surface numbers are still a little inflated, the 25-year-old is rocking a 3.00 xERA and a 3.15 FIP so far in 2024. In specifically his last seven starts, Pfaadt owns a 3.12 ERA and a 2.69 FIP with a 5.1 K/BB ratio. Remember, there’s a reason that the RHP is a former top prospect — his stuff is legit. Pfaadt will look to keep the good times rolling in a World Series rematch. However, the Rangers have been struggling with the bats in recent weeks. Over the past 14 days, Texas is slashing a putrid .195/.280/.366.
INFIELD
Stud
Matt Olson, Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals, $5,300 – Injuries are starting to sap the potential of this Braves lineup, yet it’s worth noting that Olson’s bat is starting to come around. Dating back to May 10, Olson is hitting .288 with an .899 OPS and a 153 wRC+ in his 71 plate appearances. That includes five home runs. Meanwhile, Jake Irvin ($7,400) has always struggled with LHBs. For his career, he’s giving up a .358 wOBA within the split.
Stud
Ryan McMahon, Colorado Rockies vs. Cleveland Guardians, $4,800 – McMahon has easily been the Rockies’ best hitter in 2024. Coming into Tuesday’s action, the infielder has registered a .202 ISO and a .383 expected wOBA in 229 plate appearances. McMahon is also left-handed. That’s important information for this evening, as Triston McKenzie ($7,000) has had some problems retiring LHBs. In fact, McKenzie is surrendering 2.22 home runs per nine within the split. Add in Coors Field and McMahon is a steal with a price tag below $5K.
Value
Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees, $3,400 – We’re not dealing with the largest samples in the world, but Neto has shown a unique ability to hit left-handed pitching during his time at the MLB level. In 98 career plate appearances within the split, the former first-round pick is slashing .315/.378/.528 with a .213. Heck, in 2024 alone, Neto owns a 228 wRC+ off of lefties. Nestor Cortes ($9,500) is coming off back-to-back phenomenal starts, yet it’s difficult to pass up on Neto at this low a price.
Value
Mitch Garver, Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Astros, $3,300 – It’s been a dark start to the season for Garver, yet the backstop is still consistently batting in the clean-up spot for the Mariners. There’s value in that — especially when it comes to the usual cesspool that is value at the catcher position. More importantly, Garver will face Hunter Brown ($6,500) on Tuesday evening. Brown has been haunted by RHBs in 2024, allowing a .333 average and a .422 wOBA within the split. Woof.
OUTFIELD
Stud
Juan Soto, New York Yankees at Los Angeles Angels, $6,300 – The Yankees are one of three teams on this slate with an implied team total above five runs and Soto is a huge reason why. The All-Star has absolutely destroyed right-handed pitching in 2024, slashing .306/.415/.592 with a 186 wRC+ within the split. That’s bad news for Griffin Canning ($5,500), who has had his issues in opposite-hand matchups this season. To wit, opposing LHBs are hitting 2.20 home runs per nine off the 28-year-old RHP.
Stud
Julio Rodriguez, Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Astros, $5,000 – If there’s something we know about J-Rod at this point in his career, it’s this: He starts slow, but few players can reach his ceiling when he finally gets hot. We saw it in 2023, when Rodriguez was historically great in August. I think we might be starting to see it again. The outfielder has six hits, four steals and a pair of home runs over his last three starts. I already acknowledged Brown’s issues with RHBs. Put it altogether and you’ve got a situation to attack in DFS.
Value
Jesus Sanchez, Miami Marlins at San Diego Padres, $3,300 – Things have not been going well for Sanchez in 2024, yet his underlying stats tell a much more promising story than his surface numbers. In fact, with a .359 expected wOBA versus RHPs, Sanchez is the Marlins’ most dangerous qualified hitter within the split. At the end of the day, we know Sanchez has plus-power. This is simply a play for a home run. LHBs have combined for a .412 wOBA off Matt Waldron ($6,200), so it’s certainly in the range of possibilities, too.
