The star turn continues for Parker Washington. Expectations were high following his strong finish to last season, and he has delivered so far; the former sixth-round pick is on pace for a 1,000-yard season at 24. On Thursday night, Washington and the Jaguars will look to continue a successful campaign against a banged-up Ravens team. Let’s take a look at the player prop market for Washington in this one.

Here’s the best Parker Washington prop bet for Ravens vs. Jaguars on Thursday Night Football in Week 9.

Best Parker Washington prop bet for Ravens vs. Jaguars

Parker Washington’s receiving production looks all or nothing on the surface. Over seven games, he has three games with 5+ catches and 80+ yards, and he scored in two of those. But he also has a pair of games with okay production, and two clunkers — a 1/7/0 line against Cincinnati and 1/16/0 last week against Indianapolis.

The game flow can explain some of his low points. Jacksonville has had three serious blowout wins in weeks 1, 3, and 8, which have really hurt the consistency of his production. In their four one-score games, Washington has averaged 8.8 targets, 4.5 receptions, and 73.3 yards per game. That’s some serious big-play production.

But will the blowout be an issue once again on Thursday night? Baltimore is down to a third-string quarterback, Joe Fagnano, and took a 36-10 loss to the Bills on Sunday, with Fagnano playing most of the snaps. Given the 10-point spread and the quality of Jacksonville’s defense, it’s a real possibility. Washington has been far less productive in the blowouts: he averages 4.3 targets, 3 receptions, and 46.3 yards. Jacksonville can be very conservative in their playcalling.

Baltimore won’t roll over for a blowout. Their run defense is awfully stout, and a banged-up Bhayshul Tuten and Jacksonville’s run game could be in for a long night. Sooner rather than later, the Jags will have to push the ball through the air to test Baltimore’s leaky pass defense; the Ravens are T-20th in net yards allowed per attempt, much to the chagrin of head coach Jesse Minter. I expect Washington to get involved early, keep the ball moving, and set the tone for this Thursday night game.
