Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 7 Picks

Published:

By: Jeff Pratt

Week 7 of the NFL season has arrived! As the season continues, additional significant injuries keep piling up around the league, setting the stage for tough lineup decisions for every fantasy manager. Let’s break down my fantasy football start/sit Week 7 picks for the 2026 season.

Week 7 Fantasy Football Start/Sit Picks

QB Start/Sit Week 7

Start: C.J. Stroud vs. Giants

I am on record as one of the biggest C.J. Stroud non-believers following the general decline after his sensational rookie season, but it’s time to give credit where credit is due. Stroud has been slinging the rock this year at an elite level. The 25-year-old already has amassed 1,714 passing yards, nine touchdowns and just one interception on the season. It hasn’t always translated to wins for Houston, but it has translated to fantasy production.

Stroud currently ranks as a top-10 fantasy QB on the year thanks to three consecutive 20-point outings. Despite lacking rushing upside, Stroud’s fantasy floor has been higher this year, making him a more confident game-to-game start. In Week 7, he draws the Giants, who have surrendered the sixth-most fantasy points to QBs in 2026. Fire Stroud up as a true QB1 in this matchup.

Sit: Patrick Mahomes at Seahawks

After a dominant fantasy start to the season, Patrick Mahomes has come back down to earth again. The three-time Super Bowl MVP has failed to score more than 17 points since Week 2, and is coming off his worst outing of the season against the Chargers, in which he recorded just 11.5.

This isn’t necessarily a Mahomes issue, as Kansas City remains undefeated. The Chiefs are just finding ways to win games without needing heroic efforts from their quarterback, mostly due to the breakout 2026 campaign of Kenneth Walker III. The reigning Super Bowl champion RB looks like one of the best rushers in the league through six weeks, allowing Mahomes to take a back seat at times instead of tossing for 350 yards and three TDs every outing. The Chiefs’ Week 7 matchup along with those previously mentioned factors are enough to keep Mahomes on your bench, as the Seahawks boast one of the best defenses in football.

WR Start/Sit Week 7

Start: DK Metcalf at Saints

The Aaron Rodgers to DK Metcalf connection is finally coming to fruition in Year 2. Metcalf has been significantly more involved this season, amassing at least 16.5 fantasy points in two of his last three outings for Pittsburgh. The star wideout was especially dominant against the Buccaneers, hauling in 11 of 15 targets for 93 yards.

Rodgers has looked rejuvenated after a slow start to the year, and his No. 1 receiver should continue to be the main beneficiary. DK draws another fantastic matchup this week against the Saints. New Orleans just gave up 12 receptions for 165 yards to Malik Nabers, setting the stage for another WR1 outing for Metcalf. Consider him a must-start in Week 7.

Sit: Michael Wilson vs. Broncos

The Michael Wilson WR1 experience has not exactly gone as smoothly as it did last year. With Marvin Harrison Jr. officially out of the equation, Wilson has only racked up a measly eight receptions for 62 yards over the last two weeks.

Trey McBride is obviously the real top target in Arizona, but it’s somewhat discouraging to see Wilson take a step back after earning the confidence of the coaching staff and front office as the top WR on the roster. We all know what he’s capable of in this elevated role, but a matchup with the Broncos isn’t what you want to see as a receiver looking for a bounce-back outing. Denver surrenders the ninth-fewest fantasy points to wideouts, putting Wilson in boom-or-bust WR3/FLEX territory. I’d rather play it safe, assuming you have other respectable options.

RB Start/Sit Week 7

Start: Blake Corum at Raiders

Blake Corum’s fantasy value has been elevated from handcuff to standalone, matchup-dependent RB3/FLEX. Kyren Williams is still clearly the guy in L.A.’s backfield, but Corum is undeniably involved. The third-year back has seen 19 touches over the last two weeks, turning them into 30.2 fantasy points thanks to efficiency and a pair of touchdowns.

That type of production is hard to ignore, especially given the significant number of RB injuries through six weeks. Corum should stay involved against the Raiders, who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per contest to running backs. It’s also worth noting that Williams openly called out Sean McVay for not getting enough playing time, which could result in a benching or reduced snaps for the starter. Either way, Corum should be in your lineup this week.

Sit: Tony Pollard vs. Browns

Tony Pollard is a good, effective running back. He just so happens to play on arguably the worst team in the league and possesses no receiving upside. Even in Tennessee’s shocking win over the Colts, Pollard only managed 7.6 PPR points. The veteran saw 19 carries and was efficient with them as he typically is, but there’s just a serious lack of upside as a running back in this offense.

In Week 7, Pollard and the Titans will host the Browns. Cleveland boasts a bona fide top-10 running defense in the NFL, setting the stage for another underwhelming fantasy outing for Pollard. Volume is typically king for fantasy RBs, but even that logic cannot survive in this Tennessee Titans offense.

TE Start/Sit Week 7

Start: Dallas Goedert vs. Cowboys

Jalen Hurts has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, putting Tanner McKee in line to start for the foreseeable future. In many cases, losing your QB mid-season can mean the end of fantasy production for a team’s top weapons. That could prove to be the case for DeVonta Smith and Saquon Barkley, but it appears Dallas Goedert has potential to carry on.

Goedert and McKee showcased strong chemistry together, as the veteran hauled in six of eight targets for 61 yards against Carolina. There’s some logic behind Goedert’s continued success, as tight ends often serve as an inexperienced quarterback’s safety blanket. That appears to be the case for McKee, and it should translate to another productive week for Goedert. I cannot stress this enough: the Cowboys’ defense is horrible. Even the addition of elite corner Joey Porter Jr. can’t fix all of their apparent issues. McKee should have little trouble carving this secondary up, putting Goedert firmly in TE1 territory again.

Sit: Juwan Johnson vs. Steelers

A strong start to the season gave Juwan Johnson enough production to remain a top-10 fantasy TE through six weeks, but it’s been a rough couple of outings for the veteran playmaker. Johnson put up only 5.6 points against Minnesota in Week 5 before being completely blanked against the Giants on Sunday.

That recent outing is particularly concerning, as the Saints put up 34 points and Johnson couldn’t get involved whatsoever. His struggles will likely continue this week against a surging Steelers side. Keep Johnson on your bench until he shows a consistent return to form.
