Best College Football Week 7 DFS Picks
Quarterback
Stud
Kevin Jennings, SMU vs. UVA, $8,200
Kevin Jennings has put up some huge numbers so far this season. He ranks 11th in the nation in passing yards and 12th in passing touchdowns, with a couple of rushing touchdowns to his name as well. Virginia has one of the worst run defenses in the nation, ranking 126th in defensive rushing success rate. They have been particularly brutalized by dual-threat quarterbacks recently. Florida State’s Ashton Daniels rushed for five touchdowns against the Cavaliers, and West Virginia’s Michael Hawkins Jr. had five total touchdowns against UVA. Kevin Jennings should put up big numbers through the air and on the ground in this one.
Value
Isaiah Marshall, Kansas at Kansas State, $5,800
Isaiah Marshall makes far too many mistakes, but he also makes some incredible plays. From a fantasy perspective, that’s not a bad quarterback to have on your team. He is coming off his best game of the season through the air, throwing for 333 yards against Utah last week. The week prior, he rushed for 110 yards. Marshall can make plays through the air and on the ground, and should perform in this rivalry matchup. Kansas State ranks 80th in the nation in defensive EPA/pass.
Running Back
Stud
Jamal Roberts, Missouri at Ole Miss, $8,500
Jamal Roberts was supposed to be the backup to one of the nation’s most talented running backs, Ahmad Hardy, this season. However, in a horrible turn of events, Hardy was shot in the leg during the offseason and required surgery. He is still not fit to return to the field, meaning Roberts has been the main man this season. He has risen to the occasion, ranking second in the country in rushing yards. Over his last two games, Roberts has rushed for 433 yards and five touchdowns. He is simply unstoppable and should keep it going against Ole Miss, who ranks 106th in the nation in defensive EPA/rush.
Value
Kendrick Raphael, SMU vs. UVA, $6,100
Kendrick Raphael should put up big numbers on the ground in this game. Virginia ranks 126th nationally in defensive rushing success rate and 113th in defensive EPA/rush. Raphael has six touchdowns over his past four games and should get into the end zone against the Cavaliers as well. Last week, Syracuse’s Tylik Hill rushed for 118 yards against UVA, and Raphael should do similar damage while also finding the end zone.
Wide Receiver
Stud
Reed Harris, Arizona State at Texas Tech, $8,000
Reed Harris is having a monster season for Arizona State. He is Cutter Boley’s favorite target and has been the bright spot in a shaky season for the Sun Devils. Harris leads the team in leads the team in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns and ranks in the top 10 in the nation in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Harris has scored multiple touchdowns in three out of five games this season. Texas Tech is a tough matchup, but they are not quite as dominant defensively as they were last season. Texas Tech ranks just 53rd in the nation in defensive passing success rate. Harris should get a few grabs and put up more big numbers in this game.
Value
Ryan Wingo, Texas vs. Florida, $5,900
Ryan Wingo is a great weapon for Arch Manning and the Texas offense. Wingo leads the team in receptions and is the go-to guy in tight spots for Manning. Wingo found the end zone last week against Oklahoma and should keep it rolling against Florida. Texas has played arguably the toughest group of opposing defenses of any team in the nation this season, having faced Ohio State, Tennessee and Oklahoma. This Florida secondary is one that Manning should be able to attack. The Gators rank 127th in the nation in defensive EPA/play and 124th in defensive passing success rate. Wingo should be in for a big game against Florida.
