Is Rhamondre Stevenson a must-start in Week 6 with TreVeyon Henderson injured?

The Patriots cruised to an easy victory over the Raiders this past Sunday, 45-17, but TreVeyon Henderson ($5,000) exited the win with an ankle injury and was unable to return. Henderson will be evaluated Monday, but head coach Mike Vrabel told the media he isn’t sure if Henderson will play this Sunday vs. the Jets.

With Henderson exiting early vs. the Raiders, Rhamondre Stevenson ($6,000) finished with 17.5 FPTS. If Henderson sits this weekend, how strong of a fantasy target will Stevenson be vs. the Jets?

Rhamondre Stevenson Week 6 Fantasy Outlook

Henderson only played 12% of the snaps this past Sunday and he missed Week 1 vs. the Seahawks, so we essentially have two games of data with him missing this season and in these contests, Stevenson produced 14.5 and 17.5 FPTS with a featured role.

Stevenson averaged 15.5 carries per game – including three red-zone rushes – on a massive 77.4% snap rate in these tilts. Stevenson’s role in the passing game was also immense, with him running a route on 59% of his team’s dropbacks and seeing a target on 19% of those routes.

Stevenson will be in line for another huge workload if Henderson is out Sunday vs. the Jets and this is a strong matchup for him. Opponents have the 10th-best rushing success rate when facing New York and the Jets have yielded six touchdowns to backs through five games.

The Patriots are a seven-point home favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook for this AFC East matchup and Stevenson should see around 20 touches in this optimal setup. Stevenson will bring big upside if Henderson sits and Stevenson will be a must-start for both season-long and DFS formats in that situation.
