Drake London Receiving Yards Pick for Falcons vs. Saints

Drake London Receiving Yards Pick for Falcons vs. Saints

Updated:

By: Sean Barnard

Drake London and the Atlanta Falcons will be facing off with the New Orleans Saints tonight in a Monday Night Football NFC South showdown.

This is a competitive division that finished as a three-way tie, with 8-9 as the best record last year. Both the Falcons and Saints are off to 1-2 starts to the year, and the winner of tonight’s game will join the Panthers as tied for the top spot in the division with a 2-2 record.

Looking at the odds for the MNF matchup, the Saints enter as 1.5-point favorites and hold -120 odds to win outright on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Falcons hold +100 odds to produce the upset, with the game total set at O/U 47.5 points.

There are plenty of ways to get involved in the action across DraftKings Sportsbook. You can check out the preview for the game outlook and plenty more on DraftKings Network here. But let’s look at my top Drake London prop bet for tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup.

Drake London Receiving Yards Pick vs. Saints

Drake London to Record Over 82.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

It was an ugly start to the season for the Atlanta Falcons at quarterback, and this directly watered down the outlook for Drake London. Through the opening two weeks, London recorded six receptions on 10 targets for 80 total yards with Cooper Rush as his primary quarterback. But this outlook changed quite a bit last week with Michael Penix Jr. taking the starting quarterback role in Week 3. While Penix Jr. has some growing pains he is still working through as well, he has an NFL arm and the willingness to air it out in a way that has improved this offense. Penix Jr. completed 18 of his 25 pass attempts for 256 passing yards and a touchdown.

London was the biggest beneficiary of the quarterback change, and Penix Jr. targeted London at a high rate. He was targeted 10 times and pulled in nine receptions for 194 yards through the air. No other member of the team saw more than three targets or recorded more than two receptions. This has been a trend of London’s production growing when playing alongside Penix Jr. Across the 15 games that the two have shared the field, London has tallied 100 receptions for 1,480 receiving yards and nine total touchdowns. This comes out to 6.67 receptions for 98.7 yards per game on average.

This is a terrific opportunity to continue building off this against a porous Saints secondary. Through three games, New Orleans has allowed 27.7 points and 340.3 total yards per game, including six passing touchdowns. Brock Bowers led the Raiders with 116 yards against the Saints last week, and Rashod Bateman led the Ravens with 88 receiving yards the week before.

There has never been a question surrounding the Drake London’s talent. But there have been plenty of fair concerns with the issues in getting him the football consistently. While the 29 and 51 receiving yards he tallied over the first two weeks cannot be fully ignored, his outlook should be completely different with Penix Jr. under center. Sometimes to a fault, Penix Jr. is willing to put the ball up for grabs and give London an opportunity to make plays through the air. The Saints’ offense is playing at a high level, and it is going to take the Falcons moving the ball at a high level to have a chance in this game. Count on London being given ample opportunities to make plays and for the 82.5 receiving line to be too low. For the sake of the article, we will lock in this selection, but don’t be afraid to explore some alternate lines such as 100+ yards through the air at +160 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook.
