Looking for Week 4 RB start/sit picks? Here are the running backs to start and sit in your fantasy football lineup. There have already been multiple key injuries at this position along with a mix of good and bad surprises from veterans and young players. This sets the stage for tough lineup decisions for every fantasy manager. Let’s break down my Week 4 fantasy football RB start/sit picks below.
Fantasy Football Week 4 RB Start/Sit: Running Back Picks
- Running backs to start: Aaron Jones, Braelon Allen
- Running backs to sit: Alvin Kamara, Ollie Gordon II
Week 4 RB Start: Braelon Allen at Bears
Breece Hall is week-to-week with a quad injury, which is one of the most frustrating and lingering issues a running back can deal with. As a result, it’s Braelon Allen time in New York. Hall had previously struggled with efficiency on the ground through the Jets’ opening three weeks, but his departure opens up an undeniable volume opportunity for NY’s RB2.
Allen isn’t a backup stepping into an unprecedented role, he’s played a part in all three of the Jets’ 2026 matchups. Notably, in Week 1, he took 10 carries for 40 yards. In Week 4, he’ll serve as the featured back against Chicago. The Bears have a middle-of-the-pack run defense, so 15-20 touches should result in solid RB2 production for Allen.
Week 4 RB Sit: Ollie Gordon II at Vikings
We’ve got another backup stepping into an expanded role with this pick. The difference is, as stated above, Allen’s projected opportunities are relatively established. No one knows how the Dolphins backfield is going to play out with De’Vone Achane done for the year.
Following Achane’s season-ending ACL injury, Jeff Hafley declared that all running backs on the roster are “going to have their roles.” Gordon II is expected to lead this new committee, jumping out as a priority waiver add for managers, but I don’t love his undefined outlook within a bad team.
The Dolphins are regularly going to fall behind in games, resulting in their rushing attack being taken out of the game script. That will all but certainly begin in a Week 4 meeting with the elite Vikings defense. Keep Gordon II on your bench until his role is more defined and the matchup gets a lot easier.

Week 4 RB Start: Aaron Jones vs. Dolphins
About to turn 32 years old, many doubted Aaron Jones’ ability to be a bell cow for Minnesota following Jordan Mason’s injury. He wasted little time proving those doubters wrong.
Jones has seen 40 carries over the last two weeks, averaging over four yards per attempt. Last week against Tampa Bay, he returned to his vintage form as a receiving back, catching five balls for an additional 34 yards. It’s safe to say Jones hasn’t lost his fastball, playing a massive role in the Vikings’ improbable 3-0 start.
The veteran will aim to keep the momentum rolling against an atrocious Miami run defense this week. The Dolphins are allowing the most fantasy points to RBs in the league, putting Jones firmly in RB2 territory with upside.
Week 4 RB Sit: Alvin Kamara vs. Falcons
Following Travis Etienne Jr.’s hamstring injury, Alvin Kamara is going to be a popular start in Week 4 within a productive Saints offense. I’m here to tell you to pump the brakes.
Kamara was hideously inefficient in his Week 2 season debut, which he remedied a bit against the Raiders last game. Unfortunately, the veteran and New Orleans draw arguably the toughest run defense on paper in their next matchup. Atlanta is surrendering fewer than 14 points to running backs per contest. Kamara could prove useful returning to his featured role down the line, but I doubt that will end up being the case in Week 4.
Those are my Week 4 RB start/sit fantasy picks. Stay tuned for more start ’em, sit ’em content over the rest of the week!
