Opening up tonight’s Dana White’s Contender Series card is the Featherweight bout between Ilias Bulaid and Erick Visconde. DWCS begins at 7:00 p.m. ET on Paramount+ and features a fix-fight card. Visconde has 11 more fights on his resume; he is 17-3, while Bulaid is 9-0.

Ilias Bulaid Moneyline (-130)

Bulaid is a fascinating prospect entering DWCS, with an impressive prior kickboxing career. From 2013 to 2019, Bulaid went 25-6 with 10 knockouts in kickboxing. In 2016, Bulaid competed in the K-1 World Grand Prix, one of kickboxing’s top tournaments. Bulaid began his MMA career with three wins in Bellator, which was one of the best MMA promotions at the time.

Visconde is currently on a four-fight winning streak and won the Vacant LFA Featherweight Championship at LFA 232 in May against Gustavo Pintos. Since 2021, Visconde is 10-1 in his previous 11 contests. In this contest, Bulaid is three inches taller (5’10” vs. 5’7″) and has a four-inch reach advantage (70.5″ vs. 66.5″). 

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Bulaid is the favorite in this fight at -130, and Visconde is a +110 underdog. The over/under is set at 1.5 rounds, with the over at -125 and the under at -105. This fight is -310 not to go the distance and +225 to last the scheduled 15 minutes. 

If Visconde doesn’t try to get the fight to the ground and keep it a striking battle, he could struggle against the bigger fighter who is supremely talented on the feet. Although Visconde has more MMA experience, I give the edge to Bulaid because of his combat sports background and aggressive nature.
