DraftKings King of the End Zone Long Shot Picks for Week 3 – September 28, 2026

Week 3 of the NFL season has already had some exciting finishes and explosive plays, and Monday Night Football has a great NFC matchup featuring the Chicago Bears hosting the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field. DraftKings Sportsbook is set to finish the week by adding some extra juice to the matchup with another King of the End Zone promotion.

This week’s King of the End Zone promo will award a massive $2 million in bonus bets. If you opt in to the token and place a singles bet of at least $5 on a player in a touchdown market and he scores the longest touchdown of the night, you win a share of the $2 million in bonus bets. So far this season, Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seahawks and Joshua Palmer of the Bills have claimed King of the End Zone honors and earned substantial Bonus Bets for their backers.

Earlier today, I ran down some of my top plays for Week 3’s Monday Night Football version of DraftKings King of the End Zone, and in this post, we’ll take a look at three longshot plays that have a chance to return huge payouts if they end up earning the crown.

King of the End Zone — What You Need to Know

The rules of the promotion are pretty simple: as long as the player you placed a singles bet on in the “TD Scorers” market scores the longest touchdown of the day, and that bet was worth $5 or more and was placed from either your cash balance or DK Dollars, you will win a share of bonus bets. The fewer people who have their token on that player, the larger the payout will be, so it’s important to balance out the popularity of the pick with the likelihood of it hitting. Taking a longer shot could land a massive payout, while picking a more obvious choice has a more likely chance of winning, even if the bonus bet is smaller.

Passing touchdowns are ineligible for this promotion, so if you want to pick Jalen Hurts — for example — he’ll have to run it in himself for the longest score rather than pass for the touchdown. Despite not being an individual player, D/ST is eligible to become King of the End Zone.

King of the End Zone Long Shot Picks for Monday, Sep. 28:

When making King of the End Zone picks, it’s important to consider players who are not only likely to score a touchdown but are also likely to score the longest touchdown of the game. In these picks, I’m really looking for an option that could break a long score but will not be a popular play. They don’t have the highest likelihood of hitting, but if they do, the bonus bets payout would be extremely large.

These three picks are my favorite long-shot plays who have the potential to score a long touchdown, and they’re off the radar enough that they should come with lower popularity.

1. Dontayvion Wicks (+285 Anytime Touchdown)

Wicks is known as a deep-ball specialist, and he has stepped right in as the Eagles’ second wide receiver behind DeVonta Smith so far this season. Wicks ranks second on the team with 10 targets through two games and has seven catches for 147 yards. He scored in Week 1 against the Commanders and has stepped right into an important role.

Every single catch he’s made this season has resulted in either a first down or a touchdown. He had a 64-yard catch in that game against Washington as well, although that big play came up just short of the end zone. He leads the Eagles with three plays of 20+ yards this season, and he makes sense as a long shot play that comes with enough potential to score not to be a total punt play.

2. Cole Kmet (+600 Anytime TD)

Kmet is the Bears’ second tight end, but he has already found the end zone once this season, scoring a 22-yard touchdown in Week 1 against the Panthers.

While he only has four targets this season, he played 57% of snaps in Week 1 and 69% of snaps in Week 2, so he is on the field enough to make a difference, and he could get more looks with Case Keenum at QB. Keenum’s comfort level with the playbook and group of receivers is a huge wild card, but Kmet’s ability to make contested catches and red-zone presence make him a nice long-shot play. Colston Loveland, Rome Odunze and Luther Burden will likely get many more targets placed on them, but Kmet is an interesting sleeper play who could yield larger payouts if he hits as a long shot King of the End Zone winner.

3. Zach Ertz (+600 Anytime TD)

Ertz wasn’t even on an NFL roster at the start of the season, so he’s definitely a long-shot play, but the Eagles added him to the practice squad and will elevate him for Monday night’s matchup. Ertz will be looking to help the team compensate for the absence of Dallas Goedert, who had two touchdowns in Week 1 before spraining his MCL in Week 2.

Ertz is recovering from ACL surgery, but he is expected to play a role on Monday night. He played the first seven seasons of his career with the Eagles before being traded to the Cardinals and playing the last two years with the Commanders. He had 11 touchdowns in his 30 games in Washington over the last two seasons, and if he’s healthy enough, he could be a great replacement for Goedert’s role as a receiver.

How much he’ll play is extremely uncertain, and how effective the 35-year-old will be when he’s on the field is also unknown. However, after adding the franchise stalwart, the Eagles could make a concerted effort to involve him in the game plan and get him into the end zone. He’s definitely a long shot play, but there is a path to him becoming a shocking King of the End Zone, which would likely result in a massive bonus bets payout.
