DraftKings King of the End Zone Picks for Eagles vs. Bears Monday Night Football Game

The NFL season has already been full of plenty of twists and turns, and there’s still one more marquee matchup to wrap up Week 3. On Monday Night Football, the 2-0 Philadelphia Eagles will look to remain undefeated as they visit the 1-1 Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. To add even more hype to the great matchup, DraftKings Sportsbook is ready to roll with another massive King of the End Zone promotion.

This week’s King of the End Zone promo will award a massive $2 million in bonus bets. If you opt in to the token and place a singles bet of at least $5 on a player in a touchdown market and he scores the longest touchdown of the night, you win a share of the $2 million in bonus bets. In Week 1, Jaxon Smith-Njigba claimed the King of the End Zone crown, earning  $113 in Bonus Bets from DraftKings Sportsbook for bettors who placed their token on him. In Week 2 on Thursday Night Football, it was a long-shot winner as Joshua Palmer scored a 43-yard touchdown to earn $286 in Bonus Bets for his backers.

Let’s run down some of the top plays for Week 3’s Monday Night Football version of DraftKings King of the End Zone.

King of the End Zone — What You Need to Know

The rules of the promotion are pretty simple: as long as the player you placed a singles bet on in the “TD Scorers” market scores the longest touchdown of the day, and that bet was worth $5 or more and was placed from either your cash balance or DK Dollars, you will win a share of bonus bets. The fewer people who have their token on that player, the larger the payout will be, so it’s important to balance out the popularity of the pick with the likelihood of it hitting. Taking a longer shot could land a massive payout, while picking a more obvious choice has a more likely chance of winning, even if the bonus bet is smaller.

Passing touchdowns are ineligible for this promotion, so if you want to pick Jalen Hurts — for example — he’ll have to run it in himself for the longest score rather than pass for the touchdown. Despite not being an individual player, D/ST is eligible to become King of the End Zone.

King of the End Zone Picks for Monday, Sep. 28:

When making King of the End Zone picks, it’s important to consider players who are not only likely to score a touchdown but are also likely to score the longest touchdown of the game. Many touchdowns could be scored in the game, but longer touchdowns have a better chance of claiming the King of the End Zone win. It’s also important to balance the popularity of the player for the King of the End Zone tokens as well, since a user’s share of bonus bets is tied to how popular their pick was.

These three picks are my favorite balance of likelihood to score, potential to score a long touchdown, and not too much popularity.

1. D’Andre Swift (-105 Anytime TD)

There is definitely some strategy to consider with Swift and Saquon Barkley sharing the shortest odds to score a touchdown. If you go with either of the starting RBs, your actual $5 minimum bet has a good chance of hitting, although not at big returns. In Week 1, JSN’s King of the End Zone win reminded everyone that the obvious choice isn’t always the wrong choice, and it still brought very nice bonus bets.

Swift has scored three touchdowns in his two games this season, all coming in the Bears’ Week 1 59-point explosion against the Vikings. He was held to 45 rushing yards on 16 carries and 54 receiving yards on five catches in Week 2, as the Vikings and Bears played through adverse weather in a game without any touchdowns at all.

Swift is sharing time with Kyle Monangai, but he remains the clear lead back, playing 57% of snaps in Week 1 and 68% of snaps in Week 2. His three touchdowns in Week 1 came on a pair of one-yard rushes and a 28-yard scamper in the fourth quarter. He could be especially motivated as he takes on his former team this Monday night.

He still has the breakaway speed to get free for a big gain, and since he gets so many touches as both a rusher and receiver, he has a good chance to find the end zone with opportunities for it to be a long enough gain to earn him King of the End Zone in the right scenario.

2. DeVonta Smith (+180 Anytime TD)

Wide receivers have claimed the King of the Course crown in each of the first two weeks this season, but will one be able to make it three in a row? Without Caleb Williams at QB fr the Bears, it seems like the Eagles’ receivers would be the more likely King of the End Zone in this matchup, and Smith is one option that makes sense, since he is stepping up as the team’s No. 1 WR this season following the departure of A.J. Brown over the offseason.

Smith scored his first touchdown of the season last week against the Titans, hauling in a 22-yard strike from Jalen Hurts in the second quarter.

After a quiet Week 1, he finished with 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown against the Titans, while drawing 13 targets, more than double any other pass-catcher on the board. Smith leads the team with a 33.9% target share through two games and will have a huge matchup advantage against Jaylon Johnson. Going by PFF grades, Smith has been the third-best WR in the NFL this season (through two weeks), while Johnson is the 90th-ranked CB of the 95 that have been given grades this year.

With that mismatch to attack, Smith could definitely get loose for a big play that earns him King of the End Zone honors on Monday Night Football.

3. Bears DST (+800 Anytime TD)

Stay tuned later today for my three favorite long-shot plays for King of the End Zone, but one long shot to include here is the Bears DST. The Bears will need to make plays on defense and with special teams without Williams to run the offense. The defense has proved opportunistic in the past, and Jalen Hurts the Eagles can be turnover-prone at times.

Last season, the Bears led the NFL with a +22 turnover differential and 33 takeaways in the regular season (1.9 per game). This year, they have one interception and a pair of fumble recoveries, along with five sacks through two games. The Eagles have two turnovers in their two games and have yet to get a takeaway.

There has been some special teams controversy around the Eagles using a holder on their kickoffs, and Bears special teams coordinator Richard Hightower saying that he thinks that should be illegal. Hightower could try and stick it to the Eagles special teams unit, and a big return from Kalif Raymond or Zavion Thomas could also make the Bears D/ST a strong option for both a longshot anytime TD and a potential King of the End Zone victory.
