Boston has gotten off to a hot start during his rookie season and he is somehow only rostered in 33% of Yahoo fantasy leagues. If Boston is available in your league, he is a must-add this week.
Results and Usage
Boston has looked great in his first two NFL games with the Browns. First, the rookie caught 2-of-4 targets for 49 yards and a touchdown vs. the Jaguars in Week 1 and then, he caught 5-of-7 targets for 95 yards and a touchdown vs. the Buccaneers in Week 2.
For half point PPR formats, Boston scored 11.9 and 15.5 FPTS in these contests, and he is the No.10 scoring receiver so far this season. Among the receivers that have caught at least five passes, Boston ranks first in FPTS per touch (4.4).
Usage wise, the second-round pick from this past NFL Draft is tied with fellow rookie KC Concepion for the Browns’ highest target share (21.2%), but Boston is leading the team in route rate (95%), YPPR (2.44) and aDOT (16.5). In fact, the rookie’s huge aDOT ranks third among the players who have seen 10+ targets and he also ranks eighth in the NFL in red zone targets (6).
Boston has commanded three targets over 20 yards, one of which he hauled in for a 46-yard touchdown vs. the Jaguars in Week 1.
Future Outlook
Boston is already exceeding expectations and the Browns just upset the Buccaneers this past Sunday with the rookie playing a huge role. Boston is quickly cementing himself as Cleveland’s top pass catcher and this coaching staff would be foolish if they didn’t continue to feed him heavy volume on a weekly basis.
Him leading the Browns in targets this season feels likely barring an injury. His down field usage and big play ability make Boston a legitimate fantasy asset.
Boston should be viewed as a WR3 going forward and he is worth using your waiver priority on this week. For FAAB, a bid around 10% of your budget makes sense for the ascending rookie.
