A five-game MLB slate is on tap for Thursday. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look on Thursday?
Ahead of today’s Major League Baseball contests, here are two NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Rangers vs. Mariners NRFI (-160)
Texas, still fighting for first in the AL West, will hand the ball to Jacob deGrom today. The right-hander hasn’t been at his absolute best in 2026. Still, he remains one of the American League’s better arms. Over 143.1 innings pitched, the veteran has notched a 3.96 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 174 strikeouts (10.9 K/9). Over 14.0 innings pitched against Seattle this season, the righty has allowed just two earned runs (1.29 ERA). On the flip side, the Mariners are averaging an MLB-worst 3.95 runs per game this season. The team hasn’t scored a first inning run during its previous five contests.
As for the M’s, Logan Gilbert will get the nod on Thursday. It’s been a stellar campaign from the right-hander, posting a 3.71 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 176 strikeouts (9.6 K/9) over 165.0 innings pitched. He enters today’s matchup riding a five-game NRFI streak. In addition, he owns a career 3.02 ERA over 19 meetings with Texas. The Rangers are putting up just 4.16 runs per game, fifth-worst in the league. To boot, the club owns a below-average 28.77% YRFI rate this season. Given the talent taking the mound this afternoon, early scoring doesn’t seem to be in the cards.
Rockies vs. Yankees NRFI (-120)
Ryan Feltner will be tasked with keeping the Yankees off of the board tonight. Colorado’s starting pitcher has been unimpressive to say the least. Through 106.2 innings (21 starts), he’s accounted for a 5.91 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 81 strikeouts (6.8 K/9). However, he has a passable 67% NRFI rate this season; we just need one clean inning for this bet to hit. On the other side, New York’s offense tends to stumble out of the gates. The Pinstripes have produced a lackluster 26.70% NRFI rate, fifth-worst in all of baseball. In addition, the team only ranks 17th at home with a .733 OPS vs. right-handed pitching.
Max Fried will take the mound for the Bronx Bombers, making his 18th start of 2026. When healthy, the southpaw remains a legitimate ace. He’s put up a 2.73 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 87 strikeouts (8.2 K/9) during 95.2 innings of work. The Rockies aren’t complete pushovers at the plate, but much of their production is due to playing half their games at hitter-friendly Coors Field. On the road, this group is averaging a mediocre 4.34 runs per game. In addition, Colorado’s offense has delivered the league’s second lowest YRFI rate away from home (18.92%).
