MLB Picks: Best Strikeout Prop Bets for Friday 9/11/26

Published:

By: Sam Connon

There are a handful of aces taking the mound Friday, from Nationals righty Cade Cavalli to Guardians All-Star Parker Messick and Cardinals lefty Matthew Liberatore. Can Cavalli deliver yet another quality start? Will Messick continue to dominate the Twins? Which version of Liberatore is going to show up in St. Louis? Here is our full breakdown of where we think each starting pitcher will wind up in the strikeout column.

Best MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Today (September 11, 2026)

  • Washington Nationals vs. Los Angeles Angels: Nationals RHP Cade Cavalli 7+ strikeouts: Cavalli has gone for 7+ K in 6 straight starts, averaging 10.5 K/9 on the season, while the Angels average the second-most strikeouts per game in MLB.
  • Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Guardians: Guardians LHP Parker Messick 6+ strikeouts: Messick tossing 12 K his last time out brought him up to 7 performances of 6+ K in his last 9 starts, plus he has hit that mark in both of his previous starts vs. MIN in 2026.
  • St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago White Sox: Cardinals LHP Matthew Liberatore 6+ strikeouts: Liberatore has recorded 6+ K in 7 of his last 10 outings and back-to-back home starts as he prepares to faces a CHW lineup that averages the sixth-most strikeouts per game in MLB and has struck out 35 times in their last 3 games.

MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Breakdown

Cade Cavalli 7+ K (-144), Washington Nationals vs. Los Angeles Angels

Cavalli has recorded a quality start in 10 of his last 11 outings. Even in the one outing that didn’t tick that box, the righty still tossed 4.0 scoreless innings before getting the hook. Amid this ongoing hot streak, Cavalli has hit seven-plus strikeouts in six straight and eight of his last 10. He is now 12-5 with a 3.12 ERA, 1.179 WHIP, 10.5 K/9 and 3.3 WAR on the season. Going against the Angels should help Cavalli remain dominant in the strikeout column, considering they average the second-most strikeouts per game in MLB and strike out more often versus righties than they do against lefties. Los Angeles has also struck out seven-plus times versus opposing starters in five of their last seven.

Parker Messsick 6+ K (+107), Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Guardians

Messick is fresh off his best start of the year, from a strikeout perspective. He punched out 12 batters against the Tigers on September 5, bringing him to seven starts of six-plus strikeouts in his last nine outings. Messick pitching into the fifth inning in each of his 28 starts this season surely helps with Messick’s strikeout floor, too. The first-time All-Star is also facing the Twins for the third time this season. He notched six and seven strikeouts in his two prior starts versus the divisional opponent in 2026.

Matthew Liberatore 6+ K (-104), St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago White Sox

Liberatore has struggled against the Colorado Rockies, of all teams, in recent weeks, only notching three strikeouts in his two starts against them. In seven of his other eight starts since July 11, however, Liberatore has gone for at least six strikeouts. Even when he allowed eight earned runs in 4.0 innings against the Orioles on August 25, Liberatore struck out seven. The White Sox and Orioles rank No. 25 and No. 27 in strikeouts per game, making them pretty similar matchups in this market. Chicago allowed eight strikeouts to the last starter they faced, also striking out eight times in the first 4.0 innings of their previous contest. They have struck out six-plus time against each of the last four non-opener starting pitchers they have faced.
