MLB Best Bets Today: Top NRFI props for Tuesday 9/8/26

A 15-game, 30-team MLB slate is on tap for Tuesday. For those looking to cash in quickly on a bet, nothing makes more sense than an NRFI. With that being said, there’s more to this one than meets the eye. Some pitchers thrive early, while others take more time to get settled in than others. Which NRFI picks are worth a closer look on Tuesday?

Ahead of today’s Major League Baseball contests, here are two NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Diamondbacks vs. Royals NRFI (+100)Burnes vs. Wacha

Angels vs. Red Sox NRFI (-135)

There aren’t many eyeballs on the last-place Angels at the moment. As a result, Reid Detmers’ terrific 2026 campaign has flown under the radar. Los Angeles’ budding ace has been terrific, doing his job in spite of minimal run support. Over 162.0 innings pitched, the southpaw has notched a 3.44 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 182 strikeouts (10.1 K/9). He enters today’s matchup riding a six-game NRFI streak as well. The Red Sox wield an above-average offense, especially over the past few months. With that being said, Tuesday’s contest presents a significant challenge. Boston has a .671 OPS at home against left-handed pitching, seventh-worst in the majors.

On the other side, Patrick Sandoval will toe the slab against his old team. Injuries have limited the veteran to just 49.0 innings of work this season. During that time, he’s recorded a 4.41 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 50 strikeouts (9.2 K/9). Those numbers aren’t very impressive, but it’s a small sample size. Sandoval has allowed two earned runs or less in seven of his ten appearances so far. To boot, he’s allowed a first inning run on just two occasions (80% NRFI). The Angels are averaging just 4.02 runs per game, second-worst in baseball. There’s no reason to assume the Halos will get it going early tonight at Fenway Park.

Diamondbacks vs. Royals NRFI (+100)

At long last, Corbin Burnes will make his season debut. The former Cy Young winner has missed all of 2026 due to several crushing injuries. His addition should, in theory, boost a decent Diamondbacks pitching staff going forward. There isn’t much in terms of recent data for the 31-year-old. With that being said, he usually comes out firing. Burnes has recorded a stellar 79% career NRFI rate. On the flip side, Kansas City is averaging the league’s tenth-fewest runs per game (4.28).

The Royals will counter with a veteran of their own in Michael Wacha. The two-time All-Star has been a stabilizing force in this rotation. Over 176.2 innings pitched (28 starts), he’s accounted for a 3.36 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 143 strikeouts (7.3 K/9). As always, he’s been near-automatic at the beginning of games as well. Wacha comes into Tuesday with a sparkling 83% NRFI rate over the past two seasons. In comparison, Arizona batters have put up a mediocre 24.0% YRFI rate on the road. The Diamondbacks have only scored 35 runs over their last ten games, fifth-worst in baseball during that stretch.
