BREAK IT DOWN:

(Stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)

James Wood 1+ Home Run (+297)

Wood and the Nationals are hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks at Nationals Park on what is forecast to be a sunny Saturday afternoon with temperatures over 80 degrees. In that favorable environment, Wood looks like a great value play at almost 3:1 odds given how productive he has been and the matchup he is in. He’ll be taking on Arizona’s rookie lefty Mitch Bratt, who has allowed three homers in three games in the majors with a 5.06 ERA and 1.78 WHIP this season. Bratt has allowed one homer to a lefty, and Wood has hit eight of his 28 long balls this season in lefty-lefty matchups, as he’ll face on Saturday. Wood has hit 18 of those 28 homers at home, where he has a .338 ISO and .436 wOBA with a 1.049 OPS. He hasn’t homered since the All-Star break, and the public seems to think the 23-year-old slugger is overdue for a dinger this Saturday afternoon.

Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Run (+271)

Schwarber has 33 homers this season, and he was just passed for the MLB lead by Yordan Alvarez, who has 34. The 33-year-old lefty has only one homer in his last 11 games, while hitting .195 (8-for-41), but he is at home this Saturday night in a big matchup against the Yankees and lefty Ryan Weathers. Like with Wood, though, the public is taking advantage of higher odds due to that matchup and playing Schwarber to go yard on Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park. Schwarber has hit 20 of his 33 homers at home and 12 of his 33 homers against lefties. He also has a good history against Weathers, going 3-for-6 with a double and two homers in their previous meetings. Schwarber did have a pair of hard-hit balls in Friday’s game, so he could be on the verge of breaking through his mini-slump.

Hunter Goodman 1+ Home Run (+251)

Just behind Alvarez and Schwarber, Hunter Goodman of the Rockies has 31 homers in his breakout season. While he gets the benefit of playing his home games in Coors Field, Goodman has actually hit 18 of his 31 homers on the road, where he has a .333 ISO and .407 wOBA. Goodman has hit four homers in his last five games and has a 30.8% barrel rate since the All-Star break. On Saturday night, he and the Rockies will look to make it two wins in a row against the Brewers. He’ll face lefty starting pitcher Robert Gasser, who has allowed 11 homers in 10 starts, including nine to right-handed hitters like Goodman. Goodman has strong splits against southpaws as well, with a .292 batting average and .392 wOBA against lefties and eight home runs.

3-Pick Same Game Parlay

Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same-game parlay (SGP) and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
