What happened to Julio Rodriguez? Live injury updates for Reds vs. Mariners on 7/20/26

In the bottom of the fifth inning of Monday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds, Julio Rodriguez was replaced by Weston Wilson. Rodriguez hit a dribbler to shortstop and beat the throw to first base. In the process, though, the throw hit Rodriguez and he immediately grabbed at the back of his hamstring. It’s not known if being hit by the ball or running out the grounder caused the injury, but Rodriguez went into the dugout and is out for the game.

Prior to exiting, Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a strikeout.

Since Rodriguez had over two at-bats in the game, he is not eligible for DraftKings Early Exit.
