Kamaru Usman Over 72.5 Significant Strikes (-115)
“The Nigerian Nightmare” and former UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman is back at 185 pounds for the first time since October 2023 when he fought Khamzat Chimaev. Usman beat Joaquin Buckley in his last fight, which came in June 2025. Once again, Usman has a massive challenge at Middleweight in former champion DDP. Du Plessis last fought 11 months ago, when he lost to Chimaev.
Usman recorded only 44 significant strikes in his last fight but will likely need to increase his striking in this contest, as Du Plessis is also skilled on the ground. In Usman’s previous 10 contests, he has totaled over 72.5 significant strikes seven times. Usman averages 4.16 significant strikes per minute at a 51 percent rate. Also, Usman only absorbs 2.67 significant strikes from opponents, which should allow him to combat Du Plessis’ offense on the feet.
Tommy McMillen Over 48.5 Significant Strikes (-115)
Tommy McMillen delivered a first-round knockout in his UFC debut against Manolo Zecchini in April. There is a ton of hype surrounding McMillen, as he is a supremely talented fighter with a 10-0 record and 10 finishes. But also because he trains with former UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley. He is facing Alberto Montes, who is 12-1 with seven submissions and one knockout.
Including his fight on Dana White’s Contender Series, McMillen has totaled 74 and 113 significant strikes in his two contests under the UFC banner. Although McMillen has nine first-round finishes, he has had a high volume of strikes in a short period of time recently. With a five-inch advantage in height (6’0″ vs. 5’7″) and reach (74″ vs. 69″), McMillen should be able to pressure Montes, leading to a ton of success on the feet.
