Love Island UK is approaching the end of another great season. Episode 42 features a shocking dumping, sending home one of the original couples from this season.

Love Island UK Episode 47 Recap 7/14/26
The previous episode left off by revealing that Lorenzo and Julia were voted as the favorite couple by the public. The couples in the bottom three were Mica and Samraj, Lola and Sean, and Martha and Jordon. It was also stated that as the favorite couple, Lorenzo and Julia would be making the decision on which of those three couples went home.
The Dumping
Before Lorenzo and Julia could walk away to discuss their decision, Lola and Sean announced that they would be ready to leave. As a couple, they had already found what they were looking for. Lorenzo and Julia went away to discuss their decision anyway. Ultimately, they followed Lola and Sean’s wish and decided to dump them from the island.
Rarely does a couple this “strong” leave the villa in this style. However, Lola and Sean have not exactly been fan favorites despite their seemingly locked-in couple from day one. However, this seems like the best ending for everyone. Lola and Sean seemed over villa life, and now can go start their real life together. Meanwhile, the other two couples now have a chance to progress their couples further.
Everyone seemed to agree with Lorenzo and Julia’s decision, and there were no hard feelings. The villa quickly moved on to its usual drama the next day. Finley continued chatting to Elicia, taking her up to the terrace first thing in the morning. Aidan also spent his morning talking to Elicia, as Priya hit her wit’s end. Luckily, Ethan has come in to save her villa experience. He continues to make nice gestures to show her that he is everything that Aidan is not.
The Recoupling
The islanders received a text saying that the new bombshells, Elicia and Ethan, would get to choose who they wanted to couple up with. Ethan’s choice was easy, as Priya is the only girl he has been getting to know. Meanwhile, Elicia had to pick between Aidan and Finley. She clearly likes Finley more, but it’s a harder pick because he is in a much more serious couple. Ultimately, she went with her gut and picked Finley.
Ellie was understandably very upset and completely fed up with Finley. Meanwhile, Finley is starting to have regrets about getting to know Elicia. He is starting to realize it’s very possible that he could lose Ellie because of this, which is the worst-case scenario for Finley. Finley decided he is going to sleep outside and take the time to clear his head. It seems like he is very unsure about what decision he wants to make.
Ellie told Lorenzo that she is ready to leave the villa. If Finley decides to share a bed with Elicia, Ellie will leave the villa. She also said that if he doesn’t end things with her by the end of tomorrow. Lorenzo tells Ellie that if Finley can’t help himself in the villa, he’s definitely not going to be able to help himself on the outside. That leaves Ellie with a tough decision to make in the next episode.
