The Tampa Bay Rays scratched outfielder Chandler Simpson from Saturday’s game against the Houston Astros. He is dealing with sore fingers after sliding into second base on Thursday, July 2.
Manager Kevin Cash said this is a precautionary decision. Victor Mesa Jr. will replace Simpson in the lineup on Friday.
