BREAK IT DOWN:
(Stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Ben Rice 1+ Home Run (+230)
Rice and the Yankees are hosting the Twins in one of the early games on Friday night. Mike Paredes will start for Minnesota at Yankee Stadium, and the 25-year-old righty has allowed four homers in his last five outings. Lefties have hit two of those homers with a 49.1% hard-hit rate. Rice is a lefty who has feasted on right-handed pitching, with 16 of his 23 homers on that side of the splits — alongside a .420 wOBA and .340 ISO. He has hit 14 homers at home as well, with a .416 wOBA and .362 ISO. With those strong splits in his favor, he should be in a strong spot since the temperatures are forecast to be near 100 degrees with the wind blowing out to right field.
James Wood 1+ Home Run (+243)
Wood is another slugging lefty who is getting lots of attention in an early home game. The temperatures in D.C. are expected to be close to 100 degrees as well, with the wind blowing out to right field, which sets up well for Wood. The 23-year-old lefty has 22 homers on the year, including two in his last three contests. He leads the league in hard-hit rate and in barrel rate, while ranking second in average exit velocity. On Friday, Wood gets a great matchup against Mitch Keller, who has given up nine home runs on the year, including five in his last five starts. Lefties like Wood have hit seven of the nine homers Keller has allowed this year, and Wood is 3-for-10 with a bomb and a double in their past meetings.
Pete Alonso 1+ Home Run (+285)
Alonso and the Orioles are in Cincinnati at Great American Ball Park, which has been one of the best stadiums for home runs once again this season. There won’t be much wind, but with hot temperatures, the ball should carry. The Reds will give the ball to Brady Singer, who has allowed 19 homers in 16 games this season. Nine of those homers have come in his seven home games. Alonso leads the O’s with 19 homers on the season, with 16 of them coming against righties like Singer. He’s 3-for-5 in the past against Singer with a double. Still, since Singer has been so homer-prone this year, Alonso is getting plenty of attention in this matchup on Friday night.
3-Pick Same Game Parlay
Taking three of the most-bet player props individually is always an option, but why not roll them into a same-game parlay (SGP) and get in on all the action at once? It’s a fun way to tie everything together — feel free to tag along.
Ben Rice 1+ Home Run (+230)
