Love Island UK is finally back with its Season 13 premiere! The show that started it all returned with a jam-packed episode that set the stage for plenty of love and drama over the next eight weeks. The premiere aired in the UK on Monday, but didn’t come to Hulu in the United States until Thursday. Find out what happened on Love Island UK as we provide a full recap of Thursday’s episode.
Love Island UK Day 1 Recap 6/4/26
The 12 new singles pulled up to the villa in pairs – first Mica and Aidan, followed by Angelista and Lorenzo, Robyn and Samraj, Lola and Ope, Sam and Ellie and finally Sean and Jasmine. After they all got to meet each other, host Maya Jama arrived to kickstart an icebreaker.
Lola said she thought Lorenzo was handsome, which Jasmine and Angelista seconded. Mica also set her sights on Samraj – even though she got his name wrong. Ellie listed Aidan, Sam and Sean – a.k.a. Fitzy, short for his last name, Fitzgerald – while Robyn singled out Aidan, Lorenzo and Fitzy. Only three of the boys sipped when asked if they saw a girl who was just their type. Samraj said he liked Mica and Lola, while Sam went for Ellie and Fitzy pointed out Ellie, Robyn and Lola. Jasmine, meanwhile, said she saw a red flag when Ope, Lorenzo and Aidan didn’t sip. Aidan called Robyn high-maintenance, Lorenzo called out Mica and Jasmine and Samraj said they all were. The girls collectively scoped out Aidan and Lorenzo as troublemakers.
Ope went out on a limb and said Angelista was wifey material. Lorenzo said the same about Lola, just before Maya left the singles to their own devices and couple up with each other. During the back-and-forth, Ellie turned down Sam, while Aidan and Fitzy turned down Robyn. And even though they didn’t couple up, Robyn still pulled Fitzy for a chat to find out why he picked someone else. She flirted with him the next morning by the pool, too, while Lorenzo and Lola caught up as well.
Sam revealed that he is hard of hearing – hence the hearing aids. Jasmine, meanwhile, showed her interest in astrology. As for the first kiss of the season, that belonged to Aidan and Ellie.
But just before the end of the episode, two new bombshells entered the villa – Yasmin and George. Maya told them that in 24 hours, one guy and one girl will be dumped. Yasmin and George will decide who goes home, but they can’t tell anyone what is coming.

The first coupling of the season took place midway through the premiere. It remains to be seen how long these pairings will last, but here is a look at who is starting out with who:

Who Joined the Villa on Day 2?
While the 12 singles who coupled up on the first night did not meet the two new bombshells in Episode 1, we did get an introduction from Maya.
Yasmin Hadlow is a 23-year-old recruitment consultant from Kent. Then there’s George Knight, a 28-year-old soccer player. He played college soccer in the US at Lander University and has since been a member of Bracknell Town and Dorking Wanderers back in England.
