Who will be voted off on Survivor 51 next? Episode 6 Predictions

Two tribes went to Tribal Council this week in “Not Here to Get a Pedicure” and both ended with a castaway blindsided.

I said last week that “the Savu tribe is dominated by the Helicopter alliance, and that’s bad news for Alexis” and I was proven right this week. Alexis tried to blindside Devin, but underestimated the strength of the Helicopter alliance and paid the price.

Then an even more shocking blindside happened with the Dina tribe, as Maggie’s visit (and the extra votes she brought with her) sowed the seeds of chaos she desired. It seemed like a pretty straightforward vote to vote out Lewis, but as Parade’s Mike Bloom points out, a wild series of events led to an incredible Tribal Council.

Kilby, thanks to an extra vote given to him by Maggie, forced a tie between Lewis (who also was gifted an extra vote) and Linnea. Kilby wouldn’t budge and was willing to go to rocks, putting his own game on the line, rather than just submitting to the majority. Linnea’s allies weren’t willing to do the same, and Lewis’ miracle was Linnea’s disaster, as she saw her torch snuffed.

What will be the fallout of Kilby’s betrayal of the Savu 4? And despite Alexis getting her torch snuffed, did she open Jelly’s eyes to the fact that Devin might not be best for her game?

Check out who could be going home in Survivor 51 Episode 6.

Who will be voted off on Survivor 51 next?

Maggie — Toka

First of all, I just want to thank Maggie for putting in motion the absolute cinema that was the Dina Tribal Council. With that out of the way, I think trouble could lie ahead.

We already saw Brady say earlier in the episode that Maggie is driving him crazy and he can’t take her unpredictability. Now that she’s told everyone that she gave away her extra vote — the one she was theoretically supposed to use in concert with Brady — that could open the door for Brady to take her out. Not only has Maggie lost her protection, but Brady might also feel some kind of way about her just giving that extra vote away without consulting him.

Brady also is armed with the knowledge that Maggie has been talking about voting out Kristin. As Maggie notes, the guys and Thien An all love Kristin while she really wants to get rid of Mike. Brady doesn’t think Mike has the power to do anything, so why wouldn’t he use Maggie throwing Kristin’s name around against her? He isn’t concerned with Mike, so why not get rid of a person who is grating on him and he sees as wishy-washy? Maggie may have done a little too much (giving away that additional extra vote) and said a little too much (pitching Brady on voting out Kristin) and it could come back to haunt her.

Devin — Savu

Devin may be playing himself into danger, in my opinion. I thought he was way too gleeful following the Jenna eviction, not even able to hide his sheer joy even a little bit. Then he basically decides to run back the same playbook that worked on Jenna against Alexis. It worked, so kudos to him.

However, I think there is something to the notion that Devin truly isn’t good for Jelly’s game. Alexis tried using this idea as a way to create a crack in the helicopter alliance, and for a while it seemed like she was going to succeed. She’s right that Jelly has been wrong so much in this game because of her alliance with Devin and Jelly seemed truly conflicted on what she was going to do.

Devin’s speech at Tribal Council felt a bit like emotional manipulation, and it’s true that Devin’s propensity to make proclamations could put a target on his and Jelly’s backs. Devin has attempted to make himself the alpha in every tribe he’s been on, and after two straight weeks of running a blindside/deception playbook how much can Jelly trust him when he says he’ll never betray her? Ori is right that Survivor is a zero-sum game — there is only one sole survivor — so at what point does Jelly have to decide to take out a target and cut Devin? It feels like that moment could be getting closer and closer. It’s just a matter of who can cut who first.

Kilby — Dina

Going into the Dina Tribal Council this week, I thought for sure Kilby would pocket the extra vote Maggie gave him and take the easy way out and send Lewis home. But, even if he decided to vote with the Savu 4 more than likely he would just become their next target. So on some level, Kilby may have calculated that preserving Lewis and rebuilding with Eric offered him a better long-term path than becoming the Savu 4’s next disposable target. But that calculation only works if Eric sees the vote as an opening, not a betrayal.

That makes sense on some level, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if he just became the biggest target on Dina. The remaining Savu 3 are not going to be happy that Kilby blew up their plans and sent one of their numbers home. The fact he forced the issue and called their bluff on going to rocks could also leave them feeling some sort of way.

The entire episode leading up to Tribal Council was a fake out, showing Kilby integrating himself with the Savu 4 and demonstrating his social skills. He’s going to have to put those skills into overdrive now, because if they head to Tribal next week, the remaining Savu 3 likely won’t hesitate to return the favor and this time Kilby won’t have any extra votes to save him.

Survivor 51 Episode 5 Preview

Based on next week’s preview, it looks like we’ll see some fallout from Kilby’s power play: Perhaps his relationship with Eric isn’t strong enough to withstand this betrayal. Meanwhile, Brady continues to have issues with Maggie and might feel some sort of way about her giving away the extra vote that he helped find.

What are the current tribes in Survivor 51?

The season started with two tribe, but they were then split into three, with Dina being formed to join Toka and Savu. Production had originally planned for three tribes of 6 (18 players total), but with Rob’s exit in Episode 3, that left one tribe (Savu) shorthanded. The current members of those tribes are:

  • Dina: Cristian, Eric, Kilby, Lewis and Sharonda
  • Toka: Brady, Carter, Kristin, Maggie, Mike and Thien An
  • Savu: Devin, Jelly and Ori
