Sunday Night Baseball closes out Rivalry Weekend with a matchup from the Pacific Northwest as the Seattle Mariners host the San Diego Padres in a fun interleague matchup. The Padres took the first two games by multiple runs, and the Mariners will need to salvage a win to stay sweepless in Seattle. Let’s dive into the matchup and find a few player prop bets to target in this Sunday Night Baseball AL Central showdown.
The Mariners are favored, though, at -162 on the moneyline, and they are getting most of the action, drawing 72% of bets placed as of Sunday afternoon. The over/under is 7.5 runs, with the over getting 56% of the bets.

Padres at Mariners Prop Bets for 5/17/26
Lucas Giolito over 2.5 earned runs allowed (-103)
Giolito will be making his first start of the season for the Padres after four minor league outings to ramp up. He had 15 strikeouts in 17 innings in the minors and allowed 11 runs (nine earned) in 17 innings. He did look very sharp in his most recent outing last Sunday, giving up just one run in six innings, but that was only in Double-A for the San Antonio Missions.
Last year with the Red Sox, Giolito had a 3.41 ERA but a 5.01 xERA and a 4.59 xFIP. He finished the season with some momentum, but he started slowly with 16 earned runs allowed in 20 1/3 innings in his first four starts of the year.
The Mariners will be desperate to get their offense going right off the jump, and they’ll be ready to attack Giolito right away. They didn’t get anything against Giolito when they faced him last year, but in his first three career starts against the M’s before that, they had 10 earned runs against him in 14 2/3 innings.
While I like the addition of Giolito to the Padres’ depth in the bigger picture, I love getting this 3+ earned runs allowed at almost even money as a place to start building my Sunday Night Baseball props.
J.P. Crawford 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI (+104)
Crawford will likely hit leadoff against Giolito and has had success lately, especially against righties. On Saturday, he went 2-for-5 with a homer and four HRR (hits, runs and RBI) from the leadoff spot and he has been one of the Mariners’ best bats lately.
He has 39 HRR in his last 17 games (2.3 HRR per game), with a .262 batting average, five homers and a .395 wOBA. He has gone over this prop line in 10 of those 17 games.
Crawford is 2-for-6 with a home run against Giolito in the past, and he’ll be a big part of the Mariners getting off to a fast start if he’s in the leadoff spot Sunday night. While the rest of the Mariners lineup has been struggling a bit, Crawford has been stepping up.
Gavin Sheets 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI (+116)
Sheets crushed his seventh homer of the season Saturday, when he was in my value plays for DFS in the last game in this series. He had three HRR in that game and added a couple of walks for good measure. He’s still platooning and sits against lefties, but he should be in the starting lineup against righty George Kirby on Sunday night.
Against righties, Sheets is hitting .252 with nine doubles and seven homers for a .369 wOBA and 140 wRC+. He has at least 2 HRR in four of his five games on the Padres’ current road trip, averaging 1.6 HRR per game on the season.
Sheets hasn’t faced Kirby in the past, but the big lefty has enough momentum to deliver on this multiple HRR prop in a wide variety of ways this Sunday night.
