Darby Allin (c) vs. Brody King – AEW World Championship Match
Allin is not wasting any opportunities to defend his AEW World Championship. He and Tommaso Ciampa put on a clinic of a match on last week’s edition of Dynamite. If you missed it, I highly recommend going back to watch it or view these Allin vs. Ciampa highlights.
Tonight’s AEW Championship match will feature two men who are very familiar with each other, with Allin against Brody King. If you recall, these two had a hell of a feud in 2022, when Brody King kept attacking Allin at random events. There was an attack at the San Diego Comic Con and at an autograph signing. It made for an extremely entertaining feud and one that took place a lot off-camera but was captured organically by fans. When it came to the actual in-ring action, these two have met four times in singles competition and are deadlocked with two wins apiece. The last time they faced each other was in the 2024 Continental Classic, where King picked up the victory.
They’re not bitter rivals (for now) but instead have a mutual respect. King, who continues to vie for the AEW World Championship, will get his shot against Allin. While I do believe King will wear the gold at some point, tonight will not be that date. We’re destined for Allin to carry this title into AEW Double or Nothing. I do, however, expect King to give Allin one hell of a beatdown.
Darby Allin (c) vs. Brody King: Darby Allin retains the AEW World Championship
Kevin Knight (c) vs. MJF – TNT Championship Match
MJF called out Allin on Dynamite last week, but was answered by the current TNT Champion, Kevin Knight. The TNT Champ is still looking for his rematch against MJF and this time, it’ll be for the TNT Championship.
This is a really tough one to figure out, which I love. On the surface, you would assume MJF would be the victor. But are we already going to see Knight drop the TNT title? This would only be the second title defense for Knight, who defeated Claudio Castagnoli two weeks ago on Dynamite. And if MJF were to win, would that put his AEW World Championship chase on hold? He certainly could still do that, but adding the TNT Championship in the mix isn’t necessary.
With all this in mind, it feels as if we’re in for a funky finish. Knight winning this match via disqualification would make sense, as it prevents Knight from taking the loss, and MJF isn’t pinned ahead of Double or Nothing. Then again, we just had Allin shockingly beat MJF a couple of weeks ago, so it keeps all possibilities open. I’ll side with a DQ finish in this one, but the recent win by Allin keeps things interesting on Dynamite.

Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Ace Austin – AEW International Championship
This match was announced late Tuesday night by Tony Khan on X. I’m really looking forward to this match, as Ace Austin is an extremely good talent. Look no further than the AEW Continental Title Elimination match between Austin and Jon Moxley in late January. The match went just over 10 minutes, but it is well worth your time.
Austin hasn’t found much success in singles matches in AEW thus far. This will be his seventh (not counting Ring of Honor), and he currently has a record of 1-6, with his only victory coming against Bryan Keith on an episode of Collision. That being said, he’ll see some solid TV time tonight and have the opportunity to shine against another great talent in Okada. We’ll see Austin shine soon enough, give it time. It simply won’t come with a victory tonight on Dynamite.
Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Ace Austin Prediction: Kazuchika Okada defeats Ace Austin
Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne & Lena Kross) vs. Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander – AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship
It looks as if, at least in the short term, Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander will be a tag team moving forward. This will be the third time they’ll team up, as they’ve logged victories against Ava Lawless & Gigi Rey and Big Anne & Danika Della Rouge over the past two weeks. That was enough to earn them a shot at the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship, which we’ll see on Dynamite.
Bayne and Kross have not been defeated as a tag team yet, and I don’t see that first loss coming tonight. They’ve dominated since forming the Divine Dominion, taking out the Babes of Wrath, Timeless Love Bombs, and other lower card teams in the process. I’m surprised this match wasn’t saved for Double or Nothing, but then again, we very easily could see a rematch depending on how this one goes. Regardless, this should be another victory for Divine Dominion, likely with Shida taking the pinfall.
Divine Dominion vs. Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander Prediction: Divine Dominion retain AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship
Cage & Cope vs. RPG Vice – Tag Team Match
Another match announced late Tuesday night by Tony Khan is this tag team match. This will be the first time in AEW history that Cage & Cope will team up on an episode of Dynamite. The only other times we’ve seen them team together were on PPV events, doing so at Forbidden Door ’25, All Out ’25, and most recently at Dynasty.
I feel as if this is going to be a total squash match, one that could be over very quickly. After suffering their second defeat to FTR in tag team action, Cage and Cope have vowed to put their careers on the line if they don’t defeat FTR at the upcoming Double or Nothing on May 24th. I fully expect to see the best version of Cage & Cope leading up to that event, so a very quick squash wouldn’t surprise me.
