What happened to Chase DeLauter? Live injury updates for Guardians vs. Dodgers on 3/31/26

UPDATE: DeLauter diagnosed with a foot contusion; X-Rays negative.

Bad news for the Cleveland Guardians. Chase DeLauter, who has been setting the league on fire in his first major league action, fouled a ball off his foot in the first inning. He managed to finish the at-bat, but was removed before taking the field in the bottom of the first.

It’s generally a good sign that DeLauter was able to finish out the at-bat, but it is concerning that he was unable to come out on the field to give running a try. His status is unknown beyond this game.
