Kyle attempted to climb a steep wall unassisted in the first immunity challenge of Survivor 50. When he failed to grab the ledge, he came down hard and immediately was unable to put any weight on his right foot.
Kyle was allowed to continue participating in the challenge following a brief check-up. However, after Vatu staved off elimination, he was evaluated further by the medical staff. It was determined that Fraser suffered an achilles injury that was too significant to continue, and he became the second departure of Survivor 50.
