With 8:30 left in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks, Peyton Watson was replaced by Jamal Murray. After making a pass well beyond the three-point line to Nikola Jokic on the left wing, Watson immediately cut to the basket. Unfortunately, he injured his hamstring in the process. Watson limped to the locker room.
Prior to exiting, Watson contributed 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 33 minutes of action.
Spencer Jones was also injured, so the Nuggets are very thin at forward, especially with Aaron Gordon out. If Watson is out for an extended period of time, Bruce Brown would likely be the biggest beneficiary.
