The Broncos and Patriots face off in the AFC Championship at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 25.
New England is a 4.5-point favorite and -238 on the moneyline, while Denver is +195 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 42.5 points.
Here are my top Drake Maye prop bets for the Patriots vs. Broncos AFC Championship matchup on Sunday.
Best Drake Maye Prop Bets
This is a major test for Maye after an MVP-caliber season. There’s been some doubt surrounding the legitimacy of the Patriots’ season considering their weak schedule, but this is an opportunity to continue proving people wrong.
The second-year quarterback has won both of his first playoff games. Last week’s contest wasn’t as sharp, but it’s understandable as Houston features one of the best defenses in the NFL. Maye threw for 179 yards, three touchdowns and one interception on 16 of 27 passes against Houston. He completed 17 of 29 passes for 268 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Wild Card win vs. the Chargers.
Despite the wins, Maye wasn’t completing passes at high rate. He led the NFL with a 72% completion rate during the regular season, but he’s fallen below 60% in both playoff matchups.
It seems likely to be another challenging game as Denver has one of the best defenses in the NFL. It will also be an away game in high altitude, which could play a factor.
Although opposing teams typically attack Denver through the air, the previous games have shown Maye’s inability to complete passes at the rate he did in the regular season. His completions line is set at 19.5, which is too high for my liking, especially against a strong Broncos defense.
