Tuesday night brings hoops fans a seven-game slate of NBA action on the hardwood. It’s far from the featured matchup, but the Minnesota Timberwolves and Anthony Edwards head to Salt Lake City to take on a rebuilding Utah Jazz team operating without its star.

Everyone loves a good revenge game narrative, right? I certainly do, which is why I’m looking toward Rudy Gobert’s props tonight against his former team. Over the last two seasons, the Frenchman has faced the Jazz five times with averages of 12.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.0 blocks. The latter stat is the one we’re chasing tonight since he’s recorded at least two blocks in all five of those contests. If we go back even further to his first year in Minnesota, Gobert averages 3.1 blocks across seven games against Utah and once again has at least two rejections in every single one. Sending shots into the crowd is one of his favorite activities, and against a young Jazz team that struggles with shot selection while getting blocked 5.9 times per contest (28th in the NBA), Gobert could have some fun tonight on defense. For additional value, I’m also considering 3+ blocks at +294 odds for a significant payout.
Anthony Edwards 4+ made threes (-107)
I typically try to take a prop bet from each team in these pieces, but the matchup for Minnesota feels too good to ignore. The Jazz give up an NBA-worst 127.5 PPG. Yes, you read that correctly! Opponents shoot a league-high 49.5% against Utah as well as 37.8% from three, the second-highest mark of any team. Defense is largely eschewed by this rebuilding squad as they also allow the most made shots (45.6), three-point attempts (41.6) and three-point makes (15.7) per outing. After dropping a staggering 55 points in his last appearance, Wolves superstar Anthony Edwards has to be licking his chops with anticipation. The 24-year-old is averaging career-bests in PPG (29.6), FG% (50.4%) and 3P% (41.8%) in perhaps his top campaign yet. He averages 3.5 made threes per game while taking 8.4 attempts, so the volume is there for him to easily exceed four made shots from beyond the arc tonight. He’s hit that mark in five of his last six games and made nine three-pointers in his last contest, so riding the hot streak feels prudent in a matchup that can’t get much better.
