Cowboys vs. Colts NFL Player Prop Bets for Week 9

This Dallas vs. Indianapolis clash sure feels like a weird one. The Colts seem to be in the midst of a teardown, already trading away multiple starters and rumored to trade star running back Jonathan Taylor by Tuesday’s deadline. With a 2-6 record, there’s no reason to hold on to anyone who may leave otherwise. The Cowboys, who might be active ahead of the deadline once again, remain in the mix for the NFC East despite their 3-5 record. In what promises to be a shootout, the player prop market is awfully compelling.

Dallas is a 4.5-point road favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. Indianapolis is +185 to pull off the upset, with the total set at 51.5 points.

Let’s dive into the top player prop bets for Sunday’s clash between the Cowboys and the Colts.

Cowboys vs. Colts NFL Player Prop Bets

3 Pick SGP: Dak Prescott 2+ Passing Touchdowns, Under 0.5 Interceptions, 270+ Passing Yards (+256)

When the Colts traded for Sauce Gardner a year ago, no one could have foreseen how far this pass defense would fall. Over eight weeks, they’ve allowed 14 passing scores but only two interceptions while conceding 7.9 yards per pass attempt. All three marks are in the bottom 10 of the NFL. Total passing yards haven’t been that bad, but that is largely due to a negative game script rather than Indy’s defense.

Game script won’t be as much of a problem on Sunday. The Cowboys also struggle to defend anyone, which will keep Dak Prescott busy. CeeDee Lamb should set the tone here in an excellent day for Dallas’ passing attack.

Jonathan Taylor 70+ Rushing Yards + Anytime TD Scorer (+182)

This might be the swan song for Jonathan Taylor as an Indianapolis Colt. And it feels appropriate that he goes out with a bang.

Dallas’ run defense is so bad that you — yes, you — could probably run for a solid game against them. Despite their high-profile acquisitions of Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark, two of the best defensive tackles in the game, they cannot stop a thing this year. They are dead last in total run defense, allowing 1,222 rushing yards on the season, and 31st in opponent yards per carry at 5.0. Things hit a new low this past Sunday; after Jeremiyah Love and Zonovan Knight left with injuries, backup Cardinals running back Tyler Allgeier shredded them for 147 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries, plus five catches for 44 yards and another score.

Taylor may not receive a full workload because of the trade talks. You could hedge by playing his backup, Seth McGowan, for 50-60+ yards at significant plus odds. But Taylor isn’t the kind of player to take a seat as long as he’s healthy, and I fully expect him to end his time with the Colts in style.
