The Wolverines have six players averaging double-digit points, with Yaxel Lendeborg leading the team with 14.7 points. Lendeborg has scored 10 or fewer in three of his last five games and hasn’t been as consistent lately. Morez Johnson Jr. also averages over 14 points, while Aday Mara, Roddy Gayle Jr., Elliot Cadeau, and Trey McKenney all average 10.1 to 10.6. Michigan averages 94.6 points per contest, 13.1 more than Washington does.
Washington’s leading scorer is freshman Hannes Steinbach, who records 18.4 points and 11 rebounds per contest. Second-year guard Zoom Diallo averages 15.1 points, 3,7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Desmond Claude is also a key part of the Huskies’ backcourt, and he brings a veteran presence.
From November 19 to January 2, Michigan won 10 consecutive games by at least 18 points. But since they beat Penn State by two points and lost to Wisconsin by three points. Washington does have six losses this season, but five of them have come by 12 or fewer points. The Huskies’ last loss by 13 points was against Colorado on November 28.
Washington’s only loss on its home floor this season came on December 3 against UCLA by two points. With Michigan not as dominant as they previously showed earlier in the season, it is hard to know which version of them will show up. Michigan is a little bit deeper, but Washington is still talented enough to keep up with them and cover the +12.5 spread.
