Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz faces Lamont Roach in a tremendous showdown on this week’s PBC boxing card. Roach has a 25-1-2 record and is coming off a majority draw. Pitbull’s latest victory in July came against Omar Gamez. Cruz is defending the Interim Super Lightweight title in this fight.

Here is my preview and best bet for the Main Event of tonight’s PBC boxing card between Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz vs. Lamont Roach.

Lamont Roach by Decision or Technical Decision (-130)

This is Roach’s first fight at 140 pounds, but he has the skill set to find success at this weight class. Roach has the height (5’7″ vs. 5’4″) and reach (68″ vs. 63.5″) advantages in this contest against Cruz. Roach is currently on a seven-fight unbeaten streak with his last victory coming in June 2024 against Fergal McCory. Cruz is 6-1 in his previous seven contests and enters this bout with plenty of big fight experience.

Roach is a -235 favorite while Cruz is the underdog at +180 on DraftKings Sportsbook. But since 15 of Roach’s 25 career victories have come by decision, it is better to get him at -130 to beat Cruz by decision or technical decision. Also, Roach has won three of his previous four contests via decision. Pitbull has lost three fights in his career but has never been finished, showing tremendous heart.
