As the Cowboys look to get their season on track, they have to lean on their star players for production. CeeDee Lamb is one such star who is crucial to their success. CeeDee is finally back to his target-hog ways. We rightfully got scared after his donut against the Chicago Bears early in the season, but now he’s back in the good graces of the Cowboys’ offense. Quarterback Dak Prescott won’t hesitate to dial in on Lamb when he needs a big play or a chain-moving catch.
Lamb has garnered double-digit targets in three of his last four games. Against a Kansas City secondary that’s giving up 6.3 yards per passing attempt (21st in the league), that’s going to deliver a lot of value. This Dallas passing attack doesn’t need any assistance to begin with, but they’re going to get it.
On top of the Chiefs’ defensive struggles, there’s the Dallas defense problem to consider. The Cowboys are hemorrhaging points left and right, and I don’t see any way they keep this talented Chiefs offense under wraps. That only increases the appeal for Lamb’s receptions line: negative game script means more passes; more passes lead to more targets; and more targets lead to more catches.
