Picks, Best Bets for Ring IV

Today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Ring Magazine is hosting its fourth boxing event. Four title fights are featured on this card, with David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde for the WBC Light Heavyweight Championship and Brian Norman Jr. vs. Devin HaneyĀ for the WBO Welterweight title being the final two fights.

Here are my best bets for today’s Ring IV boxing card.

David Benavidez by KO/TKO/DQ (-155)

David Benavidez is 30-0 with 24 knockouts and beat David Morrell in his previous bout in February. His opponent, Yarde, has won four consecutive fights since his last loss to Artur Beterbiev. Yarde beat Lynfon Arthur in April by unanimous decision. If Benavidez wins this fight, he will become a two-division world champion, as he previously held the WBC Super Middleweight title.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Benavidez is a -900 favorite with Yarde being a +550 underdog. Even though Benavidez’s last two wins were by decision, he won seven of the eight before that by knockout. If Benavidez has an impressive victory, a matchup with IBF, IBO, and WBO Champion Dmitrii Bivol could be next.

Devin Haney Moneyline (-110)

Devin Haney has arguably the toughest test of his career against fellow undefeated boxer Brian Norman Jr. Haney is 32-0, while Norman is 28-0. Both fighters are among the best in boxing, both 27 years old or younger. But Haney enters this contest with more experience, as he has competed in eight world title fights in the past.

Haney and Norman are both -110 to win this contest on DraftKings Sportsbook. This is the closest the odds have been in a Haney fight in the last three years, as he has been at least a -225 favorite in his previous five fights. Norman is an excellent boxer, but I give the edge to Haney in this bout because of his phenomenal defense and big-fight experience.
