After a full weekend of NBA action, there’s even more on the docket for Monday, with an 11-game slate. Several teams are playing in their first back-to-backs of the season.

V.J. Edgecombe U18.5 Points (-105)
The Philadelphia 76ers rookie had a historic start to his NBA career last Wednesday, dropping 34 points in the highest-scoring rookie debut since Wilt Chamberlain in 1959. In that game, he looked tremendous, demonstrating fearlessness and athleticism on his explosive drives to the basket. He then had a more standard rookie performance in his second game on Friday, shooting just six-for-15 from the field in scoring 15 points, though he made up for it with six boards, eight assists, and four stocks.
Based on his first two games, the Bahamian should have a long and successful NBA career, but 19 points is a high bar for any first-year pro, and rookies can fluctuate wildly on a game-to-game basis. He could hardly ask for a more difficult matchup than the Orlando Magic, who allowed the fewest points in the league last season and have allowed the eighth-fewest so far in 2025-26. Edgecombe can expect to face a lot of possessions against 2023-24 All-Defensive honoree Jalen Suggs, who has the size and strength to contend with Edgecombe’s drives. This season, they’ve also been great at preventing makes from floater range, and Edgecombe ranks 29th league-wide in non-restricted paint tries. Joel Embiid’s absence should result in a slight uptick in his usage rate, but Philadelphia also has a deep back-court.
Victor Wembanyama 5+ Blocks (+121)
Admittedly, a player’s block over-under being 4.5 feels ridiculous to type out, but just look at Wembanyama’s stat lines in his last two games: 29 points, 11 rebounds, and nine blocks against the New Orleans Pelicans and then 31 points, 14 boards, and six blocks yesterday against the Brooklyn Nets. He has his game completely under control and is bending offenses to his will; he arguably only failed to record five or more blocks in the season opener against the Dallas Mavericks because he only played 30 minutes in the lopsided affair. His San Antonio Spurs are 3-0 and lead the Western Conference in the early going.
The Toronto Raptors are a great matchup; last season, they were rejected the second-most times, and so far in 2025-26, they rank fifth-to-last (fourth-to-last among teams who haven’t yet faced Wembanyama). They average the ninth-most shot attempts in the restricted area because they start a traditional center in Jakob Poeltl and a pair of fairly drive-happy guards in RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, and this season, Wembanyama has held opponents to just 46.7% shooting within six feet. Toronto does have Brandon Ingram, the six-foot-eight slenderman who can get his shot up over just about any defender, but even his wingspan is nine inches shorter than Wembanyama’s.
Austin Reaves 4+ Three-Pointers Made (+115)
The Los Angeles Lakers were dealt a huge blow when Luka Dončić was ruled out for at least the next week with finger and leg issues, given that Dončić scored 92 points across the team’s first two games and it went just 1-1. But Los Angeles pulled out a gritty 127-120 win over the Sacramento Kings last night behind a dominant 51-point, 11-rebound, nine-assist performance from Reaves. The fifth-year pro faces a somewhat uncertain future — he is currently set to be a free agent next summer and isn’t a seamless fit next to Dončić — but his brilliance last night made a very compelling case for the Lakers to sign him to a max deal if LeBron James retires or isn’t re-signed. Reaves has now played two games with Los Angeles without both Dončić and James, averaging 44.0 points per game and draining four or more threes in each of them.
On paper, the Portland Trail Blazers aren’t the easiest matchup for Reaves, given that they had the league’s third-best defensive rating after January 19 and conceded the fewest made threes per game on the second-lowest percentage across that span. Between 2025 DPOY vote-getter Toumani Camara, breakout star Deni Avdija, and six-time All-Defensive guard Jrue Holiday, Portland certainly has the length to contest threes. Regardless, the Trail Blazers haven’t maximized that potential across the first week of the season, contesting the fewest threes per game and allowing the second-highest percentage, and they’re adapting to a new coach in interim boss Tiago Splitter.
