Not only is Wisconsin 0-4 in Big Ten play, but the Badgers are getting blown out every single week. They have lost their last two games by a combined score of 71-0. Wisconsin has been unlucky to have its starting quarterback injured each of the past two seasons, but its offense is still inexplicably bad. The Badgers have not scored more than ten points in a Big Ten game this season. The Badgers’ defense was hanging tough, but in the last two weeks, the dam has broken. Fickell’s job is in major jeopardy, and this team is down on the mat.
Oregon Preview
Oregon is one of the best teams in the country. The Ducks lost a tough battle to Indiana on Oct. 11, but bounced back with a blowout win over Rutgers. Some teams in college football, like Penn State after losing to Oregon, could not get up off the mat after a tough loss. However, Oregon showed that one defeat won’t hold them down. This two-week run against Rutgers and Wisconsin is a great chance for Oregon to get back on track. These are two of the worst teams in the Big Ten, and Oregon can work on things on both sides of the ball with little to no pressure. The Ducks already dominated Rutgers and will look to do the same this weekend. Dante Moore has racked up huge numbers against inferior defenses this season. This Oregon team is loaded with weapons, and that makes them so hard to stop.
Wisconsin vs. Oregon pick, best bet
My best bet for this game is Oregon -31.5 points. The Ducks should run up the score in this game against Wisconsin. The Badgers have looked completely defeated in the past two weeks. It’s one thing to get blown out by Ohio State, but giving up 37 points to Iowa shows that this defense is broken. The offense has not scored a point in the past two weeks, and the Ducks’ defense, which ranks eighth in the country in EPA/play, should shut them down as well. Oregon has so many dynamic playmakers that they could score 40+ points in this game without breaking a sweat. Oregon is averaging 47.3 points per game at home this season, and they’re coming off a 56-point explosion against Rutgers. The Ducks have a bye week coming up, so they should let it rip this week to carry the momentum into the break.
