The second matchup of this week’s MNF doubleheader features a battle between the Texans and Seahawks. Houston is looking to battle back to .500 after an 0-3 start, while Seattle is one of the biggest surprises of the season thus far at 4-2. Jaxon Smith-Njigba (+125)
It’s time we start including Jaxon Smith-Njigba in top three wideout debates. After some argued the Ohio State product’s success was chalked up to D.K. Metcalf serving as a decoy in his second year, JSN has silenced all the doubters by taking his game to the next level this season.
Through six weeks, Smith-Njigba has racked up 42 receptions for 696 yards, putting him on pace for 119 for 1,972 on the year. That would break Calvin Johnson’s unthinkable single-season receiving yards record. Even with the extra game, those numbers are ridiculous.
After failing to get into the end zone in the opening two contests of the season, JSN has now scored three times over Seattle’s last four matchups. His red zone target share is nothing to write home about, but it doesn’t matter when you get the ball as much as he does. Houston boasts a tough secondary and one of the best corners in the league in Derek Stingley Jr., but I still love the value at plus-money for Smith-Njigba to score.
Nico Collins (+140)
Nico Collins’ usage baffles me. The Texans have one of the best big-play threats in the league at their disposal, yet he’s failed to see more than six targets in three of Houston’s five games in 2025.
On paper, there’s a clear connection between Collins’ drop in involvement and the Texans simply struggle to move the ball. Despite boasting premier talent, C.J. Stroud and company score the 11th-fewest points per game and rank 21st in red zone drive touchdown percentage.
All of that said, amidst the ugliness within Houston’s offense, Collins has still found a way to score in three of their last four games. When he gets the ball, good things happen, and I expect that will remain the case on Monday.
