The second fighter on tonight’s episode of Dana White’s Contender Series, who is making their second appearance on the show, is Wes Schultz, who is fighting Mario Mingaj in the opening bout of the card. Schultz lost to Mansur Abdul-Malik via KO/TKO in Week 1 of Season 8 of DWCS. Since then, Schultz has one submission victory while his opponent, Mingaj, is 7-0 with six finishes.

Here is my best bet for Mario Mingaj vs. Wes Schultz on DWCS, which is airing live on ESPN+ at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Wes Schultz to Win by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (+110)

Schultz is a -225 favorite while Mingaj is a +185 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. In his last appearance on the show, Schultz did a good job of showcasing his well-rounded game but got caught by Abdul-Malik in the second round. Up until that point, Schultz landed 46 significant strikes while landing two takedowns.

Schultz must do the same against Mingaj, but needs to be more aggressive on the feet early in the contest since Mingaj is an elite submission artist. Mingaj has submitted four of his previous five opponents. But even though Mingaj is excellent on the ground, Schultz is the better all-around fighter.

In his career, six of Schultz’s seven victories have come by finish, and you can get him to do so once again against Mingaj at +110. Schultz already has experience competing inside a UFC Octagon in the Apex, and that should give him a significant edge tonight.
