The Tennessee Titans didn’t come into this season with high expectations, and their 1-4 record won’t shock or disappoint their management. But the Las Vegas Raiders are sounding the alarms. With Geno Smith under center and Pete Carroll at the helm, they expected to compete for the playoffs. Instead, they’re cratering. That dynamic creates some interesting player props for this Raiders-Titans game.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Raiders are -4.5 favorites in this game with the Titans being +180 on the moneyline. Here are my favorite player props for Sunday’s Raiders vs. Titans game.
Tony Pollard Any Time TD (+110)
One of Las Vegas’ main issues has been the run game in the red zone. The Raiders have surrendered eight touchdowns on the ground this season, the third-most in the NFL. That bodes awfully well for Titans running back Tony Pollard.
He’s not the most efficient back, but he sure shoulders a lot of touches. Pollard has taken at least 14 carries in all five of their games, no matter the game script. Pollard will rack up volume no matter what, becoming a prime candidate for a house call in the red zone.
Geno Smith 1+ Interceptions Thrown (-128)
This season has been an unmitigated disaster for Geno Smith and the Las Vegas offense. He’s taken several steps back, looking more like the player who flamed out in New York, rather than the redemption story he was in Seattle. That’s led to a league-leading nine interceptions on the season. Tennessee’s defense has not been outstanding, but Smith is making mistakes that few quarterbacks can afford to make.
It might be the last-ditch start for Smith before Pete Carroll has to consider a benching. That means he’ll try to force some things to make big plays — and this season, that strategy has produced bad mistakes.
